I was in food court this past sunday because i'm a fatty and was watching the constant flood of people leaving and i swear every 3rd person had a 65"+ flat screen on their cart.

maybe i'm just a cheap bastard or an OT poor but i haven't bought a flat screen in years but it seems like everyone else does. gotta be one of their biggest selling products; i assume their prices are good; but it seems best buy and amazon are also pretty competitive when it comes to this.

tl;dr eeerybody gets a new 65" samsung!

The replacement warranty at Costco relative to other places makes it more competitive for people that have credit cards and/or want to pick up the squaretrade in addition...

They've got good/competitive prices for one, and on top of that, you're looking at 5-7 years before you worry if the TV craps out or not. That's reasonably compelling.

i confess i didnt realize they extended the warranties that long. thats compelling and the prices seem to be pretty competitive from what i've seen.

i think that probably answers my qeuestion somewhat.

Yeah, they (unlike some other places) allow their warranty to stack... so you take their warranty (2 years IIRC?), then add a credit card's +2 years (for several) and another +2-4 with square trade... and it's not a bad option...

You can get 4 years with no extra cost of just Costco + Credit card... then if you want/need it the ST just ups the length.

Always heard Sam’s/Costco are the best places to buy TVs.

so now you're saying even fewer people are buying flat screen TVs -- not at target, only at costco -- and this helps your point that "everyone is buying flat screens".... how, exactly??
