Content is basically the same price for everyone. So the question is when streaming is the same cost as cable will everyone go back to cable? Or will enough go back to keep them in business

I think the days of "cable tv" are numbered, not by the streaming service value, but the convenience. The prices will more or less be equivalent. The provider that offers the best services will be the one that wins.

If they go up to same price as cable I'm going back to cable.
There will always be something new that will be priced cheaper.
I also don't think that steaming websites are dumb enough to go up that much. Knowing that 95% of the people that switch are doing it because of cost

As I mentioned in the other thread, the issue with cable is the annoyance. When I start a new streaming service, I press a button. When I want to cancel a streaming service, I press a button. No equipment to get or return, no techs, no delays, nothing. It's just easy. Cable's price point would have to get significantly better than streaming for me to even consider dealing with all of that bullshite ever again.

So true. Remember when you had to bring back cable boxes and all the issues they had. Oh man the worst.
Glad this happened at the tail end of football season. Really the only time I truly need live TV. May just try out 1 month trials of the other services and hope YTTV and Disney figure it out.

It's been years since I cut the cord, but I still have a distinct memory of burning up part of my day returning that bulky arse box to Cox on Florida

But yeah, as long as cable companies keep their heads up their asses regarding customer service, they are going to have a hard time convincing me to go back to them when I can just press a button in my browser to instantly make magical live TV happen on every TV in my house, and when (insert relevant sports season here) season ends, I can press another button in my browser and my payments stop instantly.
Because anyone who says they are just going to sign up for Cox for football season and then cancel the day it ends is almost certainly lying to themselves

Yes, actually, last cable box I returned to Cox, they didn't document it, and harassed me for a couple months calling me trying to send a rep out to pick it up from my house. Then my previous landlord called saying her new tenant could not sign up for cable after me because it showed the line was held by me.

Doesn't look promising for YouTube tv. Just saw where they are cutting price to $45. They wouldn't do that if I wasn't a done deal

I don’t see this happening, I think the more likely scenario is these companies will start offering split packages similar to Sling. The reason they are getting so expensive is they keep adding more and more channels to compete with each other; that they are basically becoming cable tv with higher costs and shitty channels no one watches
On the flip side, I find Sling’s packages are so watered down it can be hard to find anything to watch outside of sports unless you get the Blue & Orange which puts you around the same price as YT, Fubo & Hulu
