Looking to buy a Blu-Ray Player for my new LG CX OLED. Any recs or specific brands to avoid? Thanks!

There aren't a ton left, as you can tell by the smartass responses. I'd look at a 4K UHD capable one. I've got the Panasonic DP-UB820; its little brother the DP-UB420 is around $200. There are plenty of people out there who still like playing physical discs for one reason or another.

The one that was most recommended is the Oppo UDP-203 or 205 but they were stop being made a couple years ago. Luckily I bought a 203 before that; I think u can find them on ebay but the are pricey.

After the Oppo, I believe the Panasonic UB8XX series is the next most popular based on the number of posts in the threads.

If you are picture quality and sound quality obsessed, try and find an Oppo. We’ve got a 203 in the living room and 205 in our theater. They are hands down still the best IMO.
If you don’t want to spend that much on one, I’d go with the Sony UBP-X800.

Yes, we have a UB9000, exceptional picture and sound quality. price is very high though and I'm sure you can get solid performance for less, just wanted to splurge since I still love my physical media for movies

If you can hold out a couple of months, might be some Black Friday deals on 4K players, though it's not a hot category so who knows. The differences for the more expensive players tend to be more in the realm of stuff like optimizing HDR for projectors, or audio stuff, or just build quality. If none of those have a big appeal then the Panny 420 you linked is what I'd stick with.

I had an Oppo 203 and sold it a few months after Oppo ceased making them (over 3 years ago now *sniff*) for about double what I paid for it. I thought at some point the price would go down as concerns about updates, support etc came up but the price seemed to only keep going up.
I actually like the Panasonic 820 I have b/c it has an extra feature to adapt HDR to a lower light output device (projector) which the Oppos never had. (This doesn't matter for a modern TV that has high brightness.)

That's the thing, Oppo is still releasing firmware updates for any bugs etc that come up. Also, they will still do repairs if you ship it to them. It's a shame they exited out of that market as they were a great company in that regards. Not sure how good they are when it comes to their other products like phones.
When they announced they were going to stop, alot of people bought backup units. I considered it but didn't pull the trigger.
Also Oppo released firmware in 2018 that

Added four HDR to SDR modes to improve HDR to SDR conversion.

Sales associate said, “uh, that’s not what you paid for” and promptly got a brand new unopened one out of inventory for me instead.
It looks fantastic on my LG CX48.

Another Oppo 203 owner here. Best piece of electronics I’ve ever owned. I also have 500+ DVD, Blu-ray and now 4K discs so it’s worth having.
And I would put a 4K disc played in an Oppo up against any steaming media found today. Video and audio.

For anyone yearning for an Oppo, there is a new contender out there for the mantle they left unclaimed. Reavon is a new brand created by the French company Zappiti, which is known for some high quality and well done streamers. The base model UBR-X100 is similar to the Oppo UDP-203, and similar to Oppo's strategy there is an upscale model that mostly adds extra features for audio (multichannel analog output, SACD). The Oppos had some features this doesn't, like streaming apps and an HDMI input. Most won't care too much about that - this is a player dedicated to doing one thing and doing it well.
Here's a good review of the X-100, which retails for $799:
