Gigabit fiber is now showing up for me in 70005. $90/month.

I have a business account with Cox that has a couple years left on the contract though.

Please do. Also include size of house and modem/router placement if you don’t mind.

With fiber upload speed is the same as download. Sometimes faster.

So my google WiFi won’t work?

I use my Google WiFi on my ATT 1gb connection. Gotta do the ole passthrough mode and whatnot. Now as far as throttling, that could be true.

My google wifi runs those tests every other day and I think my average download speed is 600-700 mbps and my average upload speed is faster at 700-800 mbps. This is plenty for me though and I have 32 wired and wireless devices on my network and I stream all of my TV (a lot in 4k too).

I am not in New Orleans, but have a new install of ATT fiber in the Watson area. Went in at $80/mo, got bumped to $90 at the year mark. Still totally worth it! Upload and download speeds are consistently in the 950mb range. All TVs are devices on on a 1 Gig network switch fed by the ATT router. My 1900 sq ft house has good reception throughout. Totally satisfied.

It was $80 a week and a half ago, I would call them.

It should be (supposed to be) 1gb/1gb. If I get in the 950/950 range I would say it was a successful install.

90 is regular price. 80 is with the 10 dollar discount for the year. my year just past and i got on the chat online and said i wanted my discount back and they gave it to me.

When I called Cox to cancel he tried to stongarm me by saying AT&T can only give you 25mb, he then tried to say why not downbgrade the speed to our 30mb plan for $60. I laughed and said I just got fiber installed from AT&T and he said, “service canceled” “have a nice day” and hung up on me.

frick Cox.

Not as good as my Asus 1600ac but that’s why they give the mesh units. They come later which I am not sure why.
