Asus 'reverse notch' design
Interesting. I wonder if something like this could make its way into phone design. Ugly?

Yup.

Galaxy phones already don't have a notch.

Well they are going to have a pinhole, which looks worse imo

Nah, we're about a year away from the under screen camera being ready so there won't be any point.

The "dot" and notch for phones is just a temporary solution until that technology is ready.

We're getting the in screen fingerprint scanners this year and next year will be the cameras barring any setbacks.

I'm no pinhole fan but nothing is worse than the notch.

I think it's fine on a laptop. It'd be awful on a cell phone.

Am I the only person not triggered or raging about having a notch? I’ve had my iPhone X since launch and I’ve had no issues with it being there.

i mean, you may not notice it anymore but why would you be willing to compromise on your phone screen?

its a technical bandaid, there's no design asthetic in the history of LED screens that insert a trapezoid into your viewing area.

It's for the camera. I prefer to have the notch with battery, signal, time, etc on the sides of it than a thick bezel like the iPhone 7 and before.

The handset speaker and selfie cam need to go somewhere.
