As a new dad you're going to take a million pics. So I wouldn't wait. It's a huge camera upgrade from where you are, especially low light stuff.
Yeah I'm thinking the same, thanks.

MicroUSB was a terrible connector and I preferred to deal with the proprietary Lightning cables instead. But now that USB-C is here I really like it and find myself annoyed at having to keep Lightning cables around when I have all these USB-C cables at the ready around me. I have the 12 Mini and will probably not upgrade until they add USB-C. That is if I don't just migrate away when a good open source phone comes out

Do you think usb-c connectors don't snap into place?

Not as well as lightning. If you carry your phone in your front pocket it likely gets lint in there and doesnt snap very well if at all after a while.

I wish everything else used lightning so I wouldn't have to carry around usb-c cables in addition to lightning.

I pretty much always use wireless charging on the phone anyway.

I’m gonna order the 13 Pro on Friday. Looks like the deal AT&T is offering will make it almost free for me to upgrade from my X to the 13 pro. So I don’t really see a reason to go with the older 12 pro.

Agree that the new iphone is pretty uninspiring, however with that $1000 ATT credit it seems like a no brainer to just do it

I mean, I'd be fine with using lightning for everything instead, but that's never actually going to be a possibility thanks to the proprietary nature of the connector.

As a tech nerd I have always purchased multiple chargers and placed them conveniently around the house. That meant a lot of expense for 3-4x extra Apple Magsafe bricks, and clutter from having MagSafe, microUSB, Lightning, etc. bundled everywhere. We're now at the stage where I can just have 1 powerful USB-C charger at convenient locations and I can plug in anything -- my laptop, my wife's laptop, my Nintendo Switch, my game controllers, my bluetooth speakers, my headphones, etc. -- and have it charge fast. Except my goddamn iPhone. I have to have a second cable run everywhere, or have to go digging out a cable occasionally, because that port is slightly less likely to collect lint. Yeah, I'm not so sure that's a worthwhile tradeoff.

For wireless charging, it's still a second cable everywhere, and also requiring an undisturbed flat surface, so it ends up being less convenient for many of my use cases (a charger next to the sofa, a charger for use while in bed, etc.).

I have used a USB-C charged phone for the past 6 years or so and I have never had to clean the port due to lent, and I keep it in my front pocket

My phone crapped out on me during the storm while i was evacuated so went to the closest target and they had 1 SE left and got it.

I like this little phone and dont see why i would have needed to spend the extra 200-600 on another model. I havent had an iphone since original release, but never felt they were worth the price.

But im guessing people just go on payment plans for these phones or are you guys really going to shell out $999 for a fricking phone?

999? Try $1,500 in the top of the line fully spec'd phones.

Felt crazy when I spent over $1,000 on my iPhone X back in 2017. But when you consider that I have used it for everything I do online and every picture I've taken in the past 4 years, it's really not that bad. Even if my old phone was worth nothing now it only cost me a little over $250 a year for the most frequently used and important item in my daily life.

He replied to someone claiming that USB-C ports collect lint. In this reply he said he keeps his phone in his front pocket, and the USB-C port has never collected lint.

Your reading comprehension kinda sucks.
