My firestick on the tv in the master bedroom died last night...it locked up on the "fire" symbol. after trying the old unplug and plug it back in trick, nothing happened...
went to best buy to get a new stick where I found out that several other people came in and bought replacement firesticks with the same issue...

I had one in living room that seemed like the wifi was glitching and kept having issues maintaining connection…factory reset and still would have the issue, just chalking it up to hardware failing so have just been using builtin apps on the tv

Mine went out tonight during MNF game. Just sat there spinning and buffering without end.

I've had issues with 2, although I don't think it is the Firestick completely. I think I may have an HDMI issue with my Yahama receiver.

Ours seem to die every 18-24 months. We just replace them with another one when on sale.

Mine has slowly been going out over the last week..I always joke with apple people about equipment dying when new ones come out, but looks like I'm in the same boat suddenly

All of mine have been getting slower and slower. Wish someone made one with enough power to transcode files (4k) as well.

I've got Onn boxes, Google Chromecast, Fire TV, and Roku. All have their strengths. Currently, I am unable to use Roku because the TV streaming service (provided thru my HOA) doesn't have an app available for ROKU. So my Roku TVs have a Fire Stick hanging off them.
If you are worried, just switch. I will say that the Android UI is the most similar to Fire TV, and my personal favorite UI. Onn is the cheapest, Chromecast is a little more expensive, and nVidia is usually the most costly option for Android.
