tell me more. my pixel 3XL hits 20% battery life and then i watch it count down to 0 in real time (20 seconds) then power off.

iow, the phone is toast.

The phone had 10% when I powered it on for the first time and died shortly after setup...
Left it on its "warp charger" for like 30 minutes and it was at 100%
I didn't charge it all last night since it was already at like 85%, so I woke up with it at 82%. We'll see how it does on a full day
I didn't think a 120hz display would be a big deal but it is so smooth

but i dont think i can live with all the compromises. crazy a phone a year or more old (8T) is so far ahead of the pixel.

I paid $120 for a new iPhone 6s two years ago @ Verizon. Have not looked in a while, but would think November there will be some deals.

talked me into it.
just got one instead of the 5a. looking at the specs ccomparison alone this blows the 5a away.
guess i'll be upgrading my google storage now that my photos are no longer stored for free.
8T vs 5a

I've had a $70 moto G7 for the past year and I'm getting tired of its shitness finally
FWIW my wife and I have both used the Moto G7 Power for the past two plus years and found it to be the best phone we've ever had. We used to use the best and latest Samsung offered through Verizon. We paid $225 for each two plus years ago. Maybe you ended up with a lemon. How'd you get one for $70?

It's the G7 Play, so not quite as good as the G7 Power. I just walked in to walmart that day my old phone died and it was listed at $70
It's not a lemon, it's just severely lacking in hardware to do most normal stuff. Extremely lagging when texting, takes quite a few seconds to switch between apps, just general crappiness.
For $70, it was an incredible phone though

That is how it goes, right? The hardware on these phones is usually solid. It is the battery that always forces us to upgrade.

Anyone here know what OnePlus phones work on Verizon? I see they are offering a 9 5G.

Pixel for sure. I had the 2nd one and loved it till it got dropped in the ocean…It’s price point is weird because it performs very well you will not feel like you have a cheap phone. I did upgrade to the 11 last year for Apple but it’s not significantly better to me than the Pixel felt new honestly.

Just got a Oneplus 9 for 499. Pretty good phone. Not sure it's much better than my pixel 3xl but it has had a cracked screen for a year and a half so I figured I better make a move.

How are you liking it so far?
The battery has been somewhat underwhelming for me, but I am using this phone A LOT more now that it's actually nice and fluid to use
I still make it to bedtime with about 5% left though, which I guess is perfect
Edit: but that warp charger is incredible in a pinch

digging it. i'm on tmobile and this is my first 5G phone and i'm a bit underwhelmed. its seems to 'hang' and slow loads webpages when its in 5G mode. i will swing by the tmobile store & see if something is wrong in the configuration. LTE is faster.

battery seems to go down fairly quickly but overall it seems to easiliy last all day. its like 100%-50% drains quickly and then 50%-25% takes forever to drain. so far no concerns there.

mine charges quickly on any usb-c i have laying around. definitely faster than my 3 XL.
my google storage is starting to shrink though storing images at original quality.
