The human race has spent countless billions of man-hours developing technologies so that we don't have to write anymore, now this. What's next, pretending to chisel a stone tablet?

Kidding aside, it is probably fun to use and I'm sure it would be handy, but I would have to learn more about how and where notes are stored before I would use it. Can't have all my work trapped somewhere. Also the price needs to come down.

I like the RocketBook. Its a great combination of physical and electronic. Plus the white board sharing with their Beacons is dope.

I have owned thousands of writing pads, none of them could be described as remarkable.

Simple. It sinks with a cloud program you also run on your computer. You can just export it in different formats it from there.

What is the default format? Does the format allow linking between notes?

Pdf or PNG or SVG. Not sure about linking. Haven't had enough time to play with all the features yet. I'll check back and let you know.

Wow - I'll just stick to a 12.9 iPad and Apple Pencil.

eta... Which at 8.5 x 11 piece of paper size is big enough for us old folk to use without reading glasses.

My wife wanted one of these for Christmas. So I started researching a few brands. They say ReMarkable has the best feel like paper. But when you look at what it can do... It's literally just electronic paper. You'd think for that amount of money, they would at least throw in a tablet mode or something a little more than an e-reader.

Needless to say, after my wife watched a comparison video, she said she didn't want one anymore. Maybe it was the price but I was kind of relieved. Glad they weren't shipping any out at Christmas time or I would have probably gotten her one. But I didn't want to pay now and get it in a few months when they release the next batch.

Yeah but I use mine for business and it's easily one of the best purchases I've made in a while. My work flow has significantly improved now that I can easily write and store notes etc. where they belong.

I use Notability with my iPad. It converts everything to Word (or PDF) with remarkable accuracy. It also allows you to do searches so that you can search through all of your notes when you remember that something was mentioned in a meeting over a year ago but can't recall exactly what it was.

Thanks for the review. Ive been thinking about getting one for awhile.

Have you done any drawing on it?

People comparing this to an iPad reminds me of people who think they don't want an e-reader like the Kindle because they have an iPad which they think is better for reading.

There is something about this kind of screen that just works better for me.

I can barley make legible doodles so that's a dunno from me. But based on how it performs compared to the promos on the website for other stuff I do I imagine it works quite well. They have a 30 day return period too.

Yup. I think that's what people aren't getting about it. It really is just like writing on paper --only better.

my 12" is better

Because the big iPad more closely mimics a book. In landscape it shows two pages at a time side by side like a book, the pages pseudo-flip like a book (they turn on edge) so you can titter totter to both sides for rereading without all the way flipping, therefore you get two pages/sides at a time with each flip (like a book), and the few kindle people who've used it agree they like it better.

Got wife one for Christmas and she loves it. She is in architecture/design world. So she can easily go from sketching/shading designs to writing client /coworker/ contractor meeting notes and convert to text and have the notes confirmed. Im thinking about getting one myself...but not sure if i need the 2nd version or the 1 ( for 300)
