Gotcha. I'd definitely hide it.

The good thing about the recent app screen now is they're live. So you can copy text from one app and paste it into another without selecting each app.

Whoa.. Didn't know that. Now that's pretty useful. Will definitely start using

Updated earlier, not sure what to think yet.

Updated my XL yesterday. My screen is significantly darker/dimmer after the update and it's pissing me off

Is it possible adaptive brightness is on and it wasn't on before you updated?

Was off and still off

Installing on my first Gen Pixel XL now.

Yeah same here. I was keeping my screen at like 20% before and now the equivalent seems about 75 %.

Search for Android pie screen brightness, a few things on it.
Basically the old slider wasn't really calibrated right and the new one is. Also, lots of people are really suggesting the auto brightness is really dialed in now. I'm giving it a shot

I did this as well earlier. Still bugs me that I have to have my brightness at 60%+ now instead of 25-30% even though its the same brightness

I turned adaptive on and it's not too noticeable now. The old version would just immediately turn your phone black.

Yeah, the old adaptive was turrible. I disabled it and installed Lux, which works great.
Pie has seemed to solve my screen flash issue on my 2XL. If I had the ambient display on, it would sometimes flash the screen white when unlocking. Now it's smooth as butter.

Anyone know if they resolved the camera app crashing all the time on pixel 2? Mine does it like 25% of the time I go to use it.

Google has announced that the final, shipping version of the newest Android update is available for all Pixel phones today.

Go to the play store and make sure everything is updated. Then go to Settings, System, Update, and check for new update.
The above worked for me. I have the Pixel 2 XL, running on Google Fi phone service, and I am in Afghanistan.

I got it updated on mine today
One thing I definitely like is the card system
Reminds me of my old Palm Pre
