Is 2 day shipping mean it leaves the hub within a few days, or does it mean its at your doorstep by then?
I ordered an Echo on the 30th and it just left the facility today

My stuff’s usually at my door within 2 days.

Normally you receive it in 2 days, though sometimes there are cut-off points, and it'll take longer (they tell you beforehand, "Order within the next 4 hours to receive it on Wednesday" or something like that).

If you talk to Amazon about it, they may give you some type of credit.

I need to. According to Amazon's tracking, it left the GA facility. However, according to USPS tracking # supplied by the website it says its awaiting the package in SAN Marcos, TX?

I live in Alabama

I think they got slammed pretty hard with Black Friday/Cyber Monday/ Cyber week etc.
Normally it arrives at your house in 2-days.
I had an Echo take about 5 days to get here.

Yea, I can't even imagine working in the Logistics dept. of Amazon

It's 2 days to your door most times kid the year. Thanksgiving to Christmas though delays aren't uncommon.

The 2 days are normally clocked from when it ships. Sometimes the item is out of stock and it will take a bit longer while they wait to get it back in stock.
If the tracking shows shipping taking longer, call amazon and complain. They always extend my Prime by a month.

Item is clocked from when it "slams", meaning a shipping label is printed and attached to the box. It wouldn't be uncommon at this time of year for a box to be labeled and then fall off the conveyor or something and not actually make it on the truck.
Also San Marcos is a mess. Wouldn't surprise me coming from that one.

Yea, I'm just confused how the Amazon tracking contradicts the USPS.
I mean TX and GA aren't next door neighbors from what I remember in Geography class

This has happened to me quite a few times but worse. USPS scans a package as out for delivery, then scans it as delivered but doesn't actually deliver it until the next day. This only happens with amazon packages.

I had one scanned as delivered but did not show up for 4 days.
I called Amazon on the second day and they shipped me another.

And when it's not there is a reason that was defined when the order was placed typically a delay due to availability from the product provider.

talk to them about it. they will be very eager to make it right...

Not everything with Prime is 2 day delivery anymore. You have to pay attention in the ordering screens about expected shipping dates.

Costs less that way.
Believe it or not, it isn't that uncommon for people to FedEx a letter to someone else in the same building. Literally it costs less to fly it all the way to Memphis and then fly it back than to staff an interoffice mail department.
This happens in really big buildings with multiple tenants, like the Sears Tower and such. You're on the 90th floor and need to send a letter to another company on the 35th? Fedex is the answer.

When I started with "Prime", I would get it within two days. Now that USPS and not UPS delivers, it is very hit or miss. I've ordered over 56 items this year and close to 1/3 were 3 days or longer and Amazon shows it as delivered. I've called. With the taxes and hit-or-miss shipping, it is getting harder to justify the $90. I can do the same at Wal-Mart or get preferential pricing if I look at EBAY, etc.
I told them about the issues multiple times and all they can offer is free months. I use some of the Prime services, but could easily get them all for less than $90.
