Wanting to buy a firestick. Should I buy a jailbroken one? And if so where do I buy it from? Thanks

Just buy a normal one and do it yourself. There's multiple walkthrough guides with a quick google search.

Yep, agree with both of the others. Get a fire tv box and load it yourself. Super easy, just takes a little bit of time. You can look up videos on YouTube. The box is way faster than the Firestick, you won't regret it.

Yep. Definitely do not pay to have it done. Anyone with 50 functioning brain cells and YouTube can do it.

One of the seminal punk bands of the early 80's....

I installed Kodi for a buddy this weekend and its way easier than even a year ago. My advice is to not install the latest version of Kodi called Krypton. I installed that for him and it is a piece of crap. Uninstalled it and installed the Jarvis version of Kodi.

The instructions on the first page of the chord cutting thread are excellent. I recommend a fire tv instead of stick, and sending an ethernet cable straight to it.

I'm new to Kodi and see this complaint a lot. Why exactly is it Krypton a piece of crap? I've been using it for about a month and I pretty much get to watch any movie or tv show I want. Is something bad going to happen to my Fire TV soon?

First time I downloaded krypton, it wasn't working well. Since I got FTV last week, krypton with fury build has been rock solid.

That's what every one calls it..but apple products get jail broken, android gets rooted, all your doing with this is just loading an app to the device...

You don't call it rooting an android phone when you download kodi and install the add-on...

Exodus was not working properly. The labels for commands and streams did not show up and I could not configure Trakt. I tried re-installing Exodus but no luck. I didn't spend much time trouble shooting, just installed Jarvis which is solid.....this was on a FTV.

It seems to effect a certain percentage of users.

Me either. I have had Krypton installed for awhile and didn't have any "build" installed, just mainly used Exodus and have been testing a few others. Have had Trakt installed since I first got the Fire in November and no issues with that either. The navigation takes a little to get used to in comparison to Jarvis.

You may try wiping Kodi and then reinstalling. I have done that a couple times when I screwed something up.

I'm.currently using the Fury build which I am a big fan of so far, there are a ton of things on it I haven't even used yet. I've only had it about 5 days.
