Accidentally microwaved my pixel 7

I didn't sleep well...
Went to microwave my coffee, and put my phone in there instead. 8 seconds. Its still ringing and making notifications noises, but the screen won't work.
Repair shop isn't confident that it's only a screen issue.
Is it trash?
$200 for a new screen

You are lucky it didn't cause a fire. You should probably get a new phone because there is likely more damage than just the screen. You will be trying to fix random issues forever.

With all the metal in a phone, it probably looks like a small bomb went off inside. See what little you can get trading it in and buy a new phone. It’s not going to be worth the aggravation going forward.

This may be the dumbest thing I’ve heard of someone doing. Was there a huge hangover involved?
I do admit to making coffee and forgetting to put a cup under the dispenser once or twice.

This... how do you put your phone in the microwave?
I mean... I've even made nice pots of hot water before... but putting the phone in the microwave?

I can see putting it IN the microwave. But then turning the microwave on and "cooking" the phone is something completely different...

Microwaving CDs/CDRs and DVDs/dvd-+rs is great for getting rid of redundant discs.
Never tried it with laserdiscs.
Microwaving isn’t jump usb drives does nothing.
