I've had an idea for a weather app for a while, tell me if you guys like it.
Basically it will pull forecasts from multiple sources so you can compare, and it will also remember the forecasts for each day as they change starting from 10 days out or whatever. Maybe apply a little machine learning to figure out which source is most accurate day-of, which is most accurate a week out, etc. for your area.

Sounds cool. If it had a good radar too, I'd buy it.

I'd download that for sure

isnt this how 538 turned into the gold standard of predicting elections...until 2016?

Exactly, better odds than anyone else gave him.
And I know you're not a dummy. You do understand probability, right?

I drive multi-state for work. I've always said I wish their was a mobile navigation app that also incorporated the weather. That way if you're driving into a storm, you do't have to go back and forth from navigation app to weather radar app.

i'm not talking probability; i'm talking before 2016 they had a flawless track record for any prediction they made over 50%. trump broke them. i think they allowed anti-trump sentiment cloud the data for 'want' of a hillary win and it hurt their reputation.

quote:That's exactly probability! If you hit on a string of 50+% probabilities, it's just luck, pure and simple. Sometimes the lesser probability happens. Probability.

quote:Uh, sentiment is the ONLY relevant input data to such a calculation. Polls estimate sentiment. You're not making any sense.

Way to stay on topic

Why are you replacing Dark Sky?

Apple bought it. They are removing it from the Google play store.

That sucks. It’s a good app. Apple will ruin it

I sent in a suggestion to google a few months ago to incorporate a weather radar layer to the maps. Maybe if more folks request it, they will listen.
