65 inch is around 100 lbs IIRC. It was a PITA to put together / move by myself. I found some 4K video on YouTube really tested it out and I was super impressed.
There was some slight vertical banding when I tested the grey scale but not enough to bother me or disrupt in regular viewing. The corners have a little darkening as well but that's expected on a budget TV. The overall picture quality is fantastic for the price. If I didn't get this then I would have stepped up to an LG B7 which would have been double the cost.

This thread got me excited to possibly save $1000 or more. After reading a review there is one the making me pause:
"There are only a handful of reasons not to grab the 6 Series, that I can think of. If you're looking for a hyper-premium HDR experience (either 1,200+ nits brightness/OLED); if you're extremely sensitive to motion/judder issues during 24fps content"
I have always noticed motion jutter so I will hold off for now.

I put that out there so someone could convince me otherwise.

I have it. There’s no jutter to speak of. Go to BB and get one. If you don’t like it, you have 14 days to return it. I went through 3 tv’s at BB before I decided on the TCL.

What's the difference between 4 series and 6 series? Was thinking about saving and getting the 4.

4 series
I bought the 4 series 49inch last week for 300 bucks. It's been awesome so far.

4 series is TCL's lower end model. It won't have near the technology built into it. Whether that matters to you will depend on a variety of factors.

I definitely don't care about the smart TV technology, just wondering if double the price will give a noticeable difference, it would be 65" as my living room TV, not necessarily looking to skimp but I don't know enough about TVs to know the difference.

The main thing I look for is refresh rate. Make sure it's at least 120hz.. I almost pulled the trigger on the Toshiba fire TV until I noticed it had 60hz refresh rate

Anything over 120hz is unnecessary unless you like horrible looking smooth motion effect. And even then the only reason for 120hz is so when watching movies, which are 24 fps, it can display each frame an even number of times so it won’t be jittery. Higher refresh rates are basically a gimmick to charge more money imo. Pretty much everything we watch is filmed in 60 fps and lower

Both the 4 & 6 series have a 60Hz refresh rate with a "Refresh
Motion Enhancement Technology Clear Motion Index" of 120 & 240 respectively

My 4 series is listed as having 120hz refresh rate. I saw the 55 inch was listed as 60 though.

I haven't looked into that tv, but native refresh rate and the refresh rate that manufacturers display on their boxes/specs are not the same thing. Most brands have some way of fooling people. Samsung calls theirs the "smooth motion rate" another brand calls it "tru motion rate" which isn't the real refresh rate of the tv.

Any idea how long Amazon has been out of stock of the 65"? I have been watching for a week and no change. Also, has anyone used the 4 year extended warranty through Amazon?

Amazon has been out on the 65 since the launch. If you are in Frisco, go to Nebraska Furniture Mart. They have the 65R617 in stock for $969.

Been following this thread since I'm in the market for a new tv. Checked Rtings.com this morning and they now list three TCL tvs as the most popular recommended tv.

Really wish they made larger than a 65.

I'm in the market for a 65" for my living room. I'm guessing the 6 series is the way to go. Is it that big of an improvement over the 5 series?
