We are a country of extraordinary strikers.
I really have no idea who Gregg will call in for these friendlies.
What I do know is that whoever doesn't get called in won't be going to Qatar (unless it is injury related)

I would call in Pefok and Sargent from Europe and Ferreira and Vazquez from mls and decide who you like from that group for Qatar.
Haji Wright - turkey just isn’t a good enough league.
Pepi/Hoppe - you aren’t playing enough for your club
Zardes/Altidore - this book should be closed
Novakovich - we hardly knew thee.
I think Berhalter will call in Pepi because of what he did for us early in qualifying.

The striker pool for the World Cup I think is down to 5 guys with 3 getting the call.
Ferreira is a lock. He's been the most used #9 in the second half of qualifying and has continued to be productive for FC Dallas.
After that, it's going to come down to two of Sargent, Vazquez, Pefok and Wright.
I think the direct competitions are Sargent and Vazquez
and then Pefok and Wright. Of those battles, I'd say Sargent and Pefok are winning, all of them are in some of their best form, so it's going to be close.

On balance I still think a 9 is still a clear weak link on the national team, but at least the choice being made now is amongst guys playing and scoring for their clubs right now, and there is real competition for the spots.
GK to me has surpassed the 9 as the weakest roster spot on the team. I believe in Matt Turner but man you got to be playing this fall.

The CB depth is starting to worry me as well. Like I get it, Tim Ream is having a great start to the season for Fulham, but a Zimmerman/Ream potential CB pairing just seems painfully slow.
Hopefully Richards' minutes continue to increase with Palace. I wouldn't mind Ream for the veteran presence and for situational minutes, but I really hope he isn't one of the first-choice CBs.

Agreed with everything you said regarding the goalkeepers and strikers.
Ferreira is a lock. I suspect we take two of Haji Wright, Vasquez, Pefok, and Sargent.
Pepi just isn’t doing much and all of the other guys are playing really well.
I think that Tillman (not an attacker) may have played himself into the roster though.

With the goalkeepers, I have no idea who will be the odd man out and who will be the starter.
But we know the 4 finalists, and we don’t have the luxury of taking Slonina for the ride.

Musah in the XI for Valencia agains Aleti today.

This ref is the worst that I remember seeing in LA Liga!

Musah is just so fricking solid with the ball at his feet.
It still impresses the hell out of me even though I've come to expect it.

Sergiño Dest wants to fight for his place and unless something surprising happens, he will stay and reassess his case later.
Dest's love for Barcelona pussy will be his downfall.

Well that’s depressing. From Xavi the other day:
“Seeing the trajectory of [Alejandro] Balde we have the position of left-back well covered, at right-back we have Sergi and Dest, but he knows the situation of the club and my stance towards him.”
Xavi thinks you are poo, Dest. It’s time to move on.
