The issue is the Championship pays GREAT. Besides the top 6-7 in Italy, top 8ish in the Bundesliga, top 5-6 in La Liga and top 4ish in France, the Championship pays more than the rest. Same language, packed stadiums, etc. it's a place the American player feels comfortable. Not saying it's great, but it makes sense.

Talk about absolutely falling to irrelevance by 24. There was a time he was playing in Ligue 1 and I would have thought he was going to be pushing for a World Cup spot.
