I kinda feel like if you get back onside before touching the ball it shouldn't matter.

ETA: he was offsides when the free kick was taken, but managed to get onsides because the Tunisian defense rushed past him and his teammate was able to get a glancing touch on the ball with his heel, making it so that he wasn't the first touch on the ball.
I don't think the heel touch even changed the trajectory of the ball.
When things go right for you, they really go right.
