Why were trash MLS'ers on the field, when we had Euro Talent on the Bench?

D-Matt Besler(Sporting Kansas City)-gave up a goal
D-John Brooks(Hertha Berlin)-on da bench
D-Omar Gonzalez(LA Galaxy)-did okay, but a liability
D-Timmy Chandler(Eintracht Frankfurt)-nein playing time
M-Michael Bradley(Toronto FC)- 3 decent plays in 4 games, responsible for 4 goals against
M-Mix Diskerud(Rosenborg)- not in da mix
F-Chris Wondolowski(San Jose Earthquakes)- couldn't hit the broad side of a barn....literally!
F-Aron Johannsson(AZ Alkmaar)- Why aron you not playing?
example:
Julian Green(Bayern Munich)- scores in 30 secs when finally given the chance

MLS sponsorhip is fricking Team USA's chances of winning the world cup
MLS was founded in late 1993 because the US was hosting the world cup 6 months later. With the US being involved they anticipated a surge in US soccer interests.
The US finished the 1994 world cup better than they had done in 60 years....but in the WCs after that....we've been piss poor. Could it be this "favoritism" for crap MLS players?
Benching these EURO talents is like choosing NCAA basketball players to play in the Olympics with NBA players on the bench.

Bradley spent more time in Europe than almost anyone else on the team.
And Green has 3 more world cups ahead of him. He's the youngest on the team. Calm down.

since then:
1998-last
2002-Quarterfinals
2006-4th group
2010-Round of 16
2014-Round of 16 (our of group of death)
2018-Semi-Finals
Aside from 98 we have done pretty good. Even 2006 we were very close to advancing.
Just wait till we reach the semi's in 4 years.

Beckham was going to captain England in the 2010 WC, but he tore his Achilles playing on loan at AC Milan during the MLS off-season. He played 21 times for England after his move to MLS, including his 100th cap.

Most likely, but Besler also defended that in almost the worst way possible. He was clearly trying to foul Lukaku. He could have done much better to make sure to take Lukaku down. Besler takes the yellow card, and the US defense gets back into position. It's called a tactical or "professional" foul. That is part of the gamesmanship and tactical awareness that so many of our players are lacking.

I'm talking about the first. On the second, Matt was just a bit late reacting to Lukaku running across him, but I'm not sure he got any communication from his teammates. He seemed genuinely surprised to have Lukaku running across his face and just couldn't react quickly enough.
Considering that second goal's apparent communications breakdown and the same thing on Portugal's second, is communication a real issue? Or is it just tactical awareness?

Communication was an issue with the second but mostly USA getting caught pushing everyone forward to score.
Not sure how gonzo gets blamed for the first by some people. He Made a stab to stop the ball from going through the middle. His attempt slows the play down allowing besler to get in position covering the outside while gonzo covers the middle. besler over compensates to the inside and gets beat near post. Add that to him falling down while trying to foul.
