Why is no one repping Flo Balogun in the early golden boot conversation?

The man scored a brace in the opener, and had one disallowed for offside. He’s looked as dangerous as anyone in this tournament save for Messi.

Listening to these talking heads go on about Haaland, Mbappe, Messi. Fair. And continue on about R7 and Harry Kane who are yet to play. Understandable.

Flo absolutely belongs in that conversation at this present moment. Since nobody else is including him, I figured I’d just do it myself.

Absolutely. You can argue that his second goal was the best of the group so far

Serious answer: the US isn't going as far as most of the guys you just mentioned leaving Flo with limited opportunities

But he should be mentioned at least right now seeing we're still in the group stage

I think if he gets another goal (or 2) in friday's match he'll start to get mentioned. And if the US does beat Australia and he leads the way with a few goals, i think the hype train will get rolling

He's 3-4 goals away from a $100 million transfer to Chelsea or Newcastle

Yep he has a lot on the line. He could really get paid.

Only way the US loses that is if they have a monster emotional letdown after that tour de force the other night. They come out gunning and attacking and don’t yield too much on Aussies counters, they’ll win.

As for the boot, tough climb if you don’t do crazy shite and/or make the semis.

I guess

But most of the names above have a decent shot to be on one of the 4 teams that will be playing 8 games

Not sure a guy projected to play in 4-5 belongs in that convo but happy to be wrong

Flo has as many goals as Messi if the Paraguay player hadn't decided to score it himself instead.
