Which European leagues will be better than MLS by 2036?

I’ll start
England
Spain
Italy
Germany
France
Portugal

Hard to tell but could be better than the following by 2036:

Netherlands
Russia (this could be really easy, for non soccer reasons)
Ukraine (sadly, the same)
Turkey
Greece

I’d say it’s already better than any of the Scandinavian leagues, Austria, Belgium, Romania, etc though the champions and runner-ups are better than the best MLS side (but no one else).

nobody even watches those teams anyway... does any Premier League fan bring up Wolves and Fulham and Sheffield United when they talk shite? No. it's all about the top 6 and relegation is a footnote if you're not in England

The relegation battle’s usually becomes some the most covered in the soccer media

It will be a top 15 league in the world for sure, maybe punching into the top ten depending on how much of the homegrown talent that doesn’t go to top leagues improves

Is it the 29th ranked league in the world right now like that new analytics study put out? Of course not

Is it a borderline top 10 like some believe it is? Of course not

It’s somewhere in the middle currently

What?

Schalke is one of the best supported teams in Europe
as well as all the other clubs. Hamburg. Stuttgart etc. .

Yea I don’t think he really knows what he’s talking about

Big clubs going down is a major thing and people love to watch the train wreck

just saying, the teams that get relegated don't usually have big worldwide fanbases... such as Burnley

Everton is the biggest club in that conversation and they're the definition of perennial midtable mediocrity

the biggest club ever relegated from the Premier League was Newcastle United and that was when they weren't what they are now

Off the top of my head, I’d say it’s about 14-16 right now and should either be at the bottom of the top 10 in about a decade, or right outside of it.

They are the same size, just richer

I don’t know if you know this but they used to be in the champions league and almost won the premier league and this was before they got relegated……

He is invested in MLS and wants the league to grow and succeed as a result.

MLS gets flack for its structure and how some of it keeps the league from being competitive. Also the quality of American player who stays in MLS isn’t very good.

Hope you mean more than Pro/Rel. Mexican Pro/Rel is a good system, but made completely meaningless as one team is relegated and owners can just buy the promoted team

Correct.

MLS sits on par with the better teams in the English Championship, and lesser teams in League 1. Sadly, that still puts it as a Top 10 League in Europe. Vast is the gulf.

FIFY

MLS will never be a big 4 league, barring a total collapse of UEFA and all of its constructs.

And that's ok.

But where does MLS rank among leagues outside of Europe?

Saudi spending for its league is here to stay

This isn’t like what happened in China

Catching up to LigaMX for the most part

Other than the LigaMX big boys

Behind Brazil and Argentina

Better than anything in Asia but with Saudi on its current projection it’s going to be a problem for anyone outside the big European leagues. They are already paying transfer fees for players in their prime. Something MLS doesn’t do.

Also not being on the football calendar with most the world will be an issue. Lots of the big time players spend summer partying in Mediterranean or in the states.

You thinking there is some great barrier between LAFC and América is wild.
