The Glazers bought the club with mountains of debt and are now bleeding the club dry on that back of it. This, according to UEFA, it totally fine. Even though FFP was allegedly sold as a mechanism for protecting fans from reckless & irresponsible ownership.

FFP is bullshite

That said...Inject a nominal loan fee with an astronomical permanent fee in the summer contingent on promotion into my veins

Honestly I’d be all for it

They are not interested in running a football club

The debt they incurred to buy the club could have been paid of a long time ago but instead they have taken over a billion pounds out the club. The debt is a serviceable debt so it’s not an issue and they know that. When they eventually sell that will be part of the price

The lack of proper investment in the squad with actual football people doing it is criminal

The stadium is literally falling apart and they won’t do anything about it

The players bought the last 5-6 years by Woodward in an attempt to play catch up is just throwing shite at the wall

But the Glazers don’t care the value of the club just went up like 20%

Look how shite the Bucs have become the last decade as well

There’s no need to. They are clearly operating under self imposed sanctions.

Bc they bring that franchise mentality it’s all about profit

Most owners in Europe just want to break even and win

Not make massive profit first

They are an anomaly not the norm

Even then it took years to get right after their initial way of running the club wasn’t working

To be fair they did inherit a dumpster fire... but yeah it was NOT a quick process, and they got a lot of shite wrong.

Who would you consider the 2nd best American owner/ownership group?

From a business standpoint how they bought the club was very smart

What they have done to it since then is criminal

I’m waiting for SAF to go public with the issues he had with the Glazers when it came to financial backing. He was pulling miracles some of those seasons post CR7 until 2013.

The CR7 sale was never invested back in to getting proper replacements. That’s when we should have known something was up.

It feels like soccer interest in the US peaked around 2014 or so and has been in decline a bit since. Or at least a lot fewer new people coming in, which makes sense considering the disaster that is the USSF.

It’s crazy how the Glazers’ star has fallen so dramatically. They were once held up as the ideal owners in the NFL (progressive for hiring Dungy and aggressively trading picks for Gruden, updating the Bucs uniforms in a really modern way) and they started the trend of NFL / American sports owners buying international football franchises
