So.. we CAN pick Jozy at age 23, but not Bradley at age 24?

And world class goalkeepers may not make it ALL THE WAY to 35.

Somebody better tell Buffon to retire after the Euros. It's a miracle that he can get on the field at all.

I'm in my mid 30s. Should I be getting fitted for a coffin?

shite like this and the "how awesome would it be if Chris Paul played soccer?" make me wish we had an ignore button.

Jordan McCrary,

The only person on this site who mentions him is you, and I think that's because you know him or something, right?

That said, if you are right, all the better

I think all of these guys, along with Bradley and Johnson, have a good chance to be really good (Bradley is already there IMO). The list could actually be a lot longer. Not sure if Guay(Sp?) has been mentioned, but I like him from the little I have seen.

I know a couple guys that got invited to some US youth trainings and academies, and they say the guys there are extremely athletic, so the argument about the US not having good enough athletes is old and petty at this point. They told me that technical skill was lacking: touch, vision, ball skills...etc.

None of these guys are going to develop into the players we want until they can handle the ball in small spaces and uncomfortable situations without making mistakes, and then have the vision/skill to get out of that space and make a play.

...not sure if you're
1. Mad that we have Dempsey sigs because you have been here longer and therefor claim all rights to Dempsey in all ways.

OR

2. Legitimately happy to see other people love Dempsey.

Oh and I. am. Disappoint. Son.

NO ONE has mentioned Ben Lederman as the future and face of American soccer.

I mean he is 10 years old and in Barcalona's academy.

His Highlight goal from 2 days ago.

This is the answer. Of course, people were saying the same things about Adu and we haven't seen those results yet.

The team doesn't lack for athleticism (except for Gooch), we're consistently one of the most fit teams in tournaments. We lack big time the technical and mental skills to really compete though. Most of our players spacing, passing, timing, and touch is sub par compared to the rest of the world.
