Bc their beer is that damn good

Germany has a vast variety of beer and it's not even funny.

And my personal opinion is that Brew Dog can lick my nuts. They make objectively bad beer on the whole.

First person I've ever heard say that. The masses disagree but that's your opinion.

The U.S. just produces more, period, and that includes terrible ones.

Yeah, that's a good point. . .

If you're almost anywhere in Europe --not just a certain spot you've pick out for their rare brews-- and someone says "want a beer, dude?" the chance that it will be a particularly good one is a hell of a lot higher.

The masses also like Bud Light.

And it's true that the Reinheitsgebot has held German brewers back. You can laugh, but it doesn't change that fact.

I wish that trend would die

I disagree

There are still local mico brews that make great beers and keep with the purity laws

The US. Then I would go with Belgium and the UK. Underrated for beer is Sweden which has an amazing brewing scene right now. Germany is fine but the purity laws really hamper creativity.

It's true. They can't do things that craft breweries elsewhere can because of the Reinheitsgebot.

Even NPR knows

Brew dog is a damn novelty and nothing more.

To the other poster, I haven't been to Europe in 8 years so maybe I'm out of touch. When I was in Ireland and England, most places I went had shitty taps and no craft brews, though the Guinness there was very good.

First craft I had was Belenos. High gravity beers made with Asturian hops, brewed in Belgium. Late 90´s, early naughts.

They´re still at it, they make it in Asturias now.

Slightly south of average.

They make good beer and on a scale we haven't seen in a while especially from a Scottish brewery. The shite they did to get attention at first was absurd and stupid. They honestly might be to ambitious and that could be their downfall but we will see. Their prices to buy stock in the company are outrageous though. Still looking for places in the states that have them on tap.

Well if your not into room temperature cask ales then you won't enjoy England and Ireland very much

But seriously the big cities now have tones of craft beer from local and abroad you can get either a fresh pint or out the bottle. England for the most part doesn't make good larger, so most of it is imported .

I'm sure the op being in Ireland has seen Guinness has even got in on the action with beers like their golden ale, porter house and my favorite of the new bunch hop house larger 13 which taste excellent as a fresh pint.

Cask ales are the way to go in Britain. Find a CAMRA recommended pub and you're in business. Stay away from tourist traps because they usually only carry crappy lagers and megabrewery garbage.

United States is arguably #2 with the craft revolution that has occurred in the last decade.

FIFY.

I encourage anybody to go find a list of the top 100 beers in the world, and see what's country is most represented on that list.

The funny thing is that the US craft beer scene is moving so fast, that by the time everyone acknowledges that a US beer is amongst the best in the world for its style, it has usually been surpassed by several others.

Heady Topper and Pliny the Elder are great examples of this phenomenon. People chase after them as if they are the Best of the best, when, truth be told, there are many better options that have popped up in the last couple of years.

Yea, it's the US. You can discuss who has the next best, but to pretend the US isn't kicking the worlds arse is crazy.

Avery Brewing in Boulder would put five of their beers on any Europe top 10 list.
