My guess is that he'll be at PSG next year.

He and Moyes both like each other. I wouldn't pencil him in somewhere else yet.

Moyes sued Rooney for libel. Appointing him as manager has a lot to do with the transfer request IMO.

I thought they pretty much hated each other.

They do. I never thought he'd actually leave but with Moyes being appointed I expect to see him somewhere like PSG next year.

this seems like the ideal time to sell rooney anyway. he's slipping, has weight issues, and is exiting his prime

sell him while he's still a name and before a club like PSG realizes he's not what he once was

oh, and i'd pay for a reality tv show: rooney in paris

I agree, probably the best time to get rid of him. His future is probably at CM anyways.

Oh wow...I read an article one time where Rooney made compliments regarding Moyes and Everton.

What was the libel claim about?

Libel

Rooney accused Moyes of leaking Rooney's transfer request while at Everton after being caught with a prostitute.

damn

Well, this may explain why Rooney was kissing Moyes' arse in that piece I read.

OK...is there any EPL team that he could sign with over PSG?

Yeah, I really think he wants to stay at striker...and we really need help at CM. Kagawa is looking like a better option longterm as a CAM, so he probably needs to head out or drop way deep.

I'll miss him, but it's for the best. Turn around and invest that money in a guy like Fellaini (hoping Moyes will get us a discount).

Chelsea and City are the only clubs that could probably afford him. The rumor has been that Chelsea is the most interested.

SAF has always had a good sense for when it was time to let star players walk. I imagine he's still going to have a hand in all this. Hopefully they take the money and tun it into Fellaini and Lewandowski.

If Rooney's not getting enough time at striker, getting a guy like Lewa (who I really, really like) wouldn't make much sense.

United used a 4-2-3-1 on 32 different occasions this season and a variation of a two striker formation only 7 times. In my mind, a rotation of RvP, Chicharito and Welbeck up front is enough (and Welbeck is continuing to get looks on the wing).

If Rooney's out, you'll need another attacking midfielder/winger to go along with the #1 priority, the central midfielder.

I don't think we necessarily need another striker but United are linked to several now and it's hard to imagine they don't end up bringing one of them in. Lewa will end up at either Bayern or United. Fellaini would be huge in shoring up the midfield.

There is also talk of Hernandez leaving this summer.
