They might as well be made out of paper. A bunch of our parents got conned into these 300 dollar POS this year. Out of almost half a dozen pairs on our Mobile team, not a single pair lasted the 6 month season. (These all had the stupid Nike skin socks.) The were great for about a month.

At first Nike replaced them but now they are saying that the socks tearing to shred are simply wear and tear. (They all tore the exact same way.) When I ask that they return the defective shoes, they said they had already destroyed them.

I am willing to bet that all these Nike skin sock shoes from 2015 have torn up from looking at the reviews.

Anyway, they are clearly defective, will not last 6 months of competitive play and they will not stand by the warranty.

Some lawyers I know in California are looking at possible class action on these POS, since California people don't take shite like this as we do in the South.

If yours tore up within first year please let me know. DO NOT BUY or YOU are on your own.

Don't think I have to worry about that. Haven't worn a pair of Nike cleats that I ever liked.

Solid rant. But why does it still have over 4 stars on the site in your link? Even though it's the Nike site I would expect the denizens to take to it and write some pretty harsh words like you have here.

The CTR IIIs were the best I've ever had. I still own a pair over five years later. I'm really sad they don't make them anymore. A lot of people liked them, too. They were replaced by the Magistas. I wonder if they would help me stop rolling my ankle, but I've never bought a pair.

Get you a pair of Adidas with some sweet customization like mine:

ETA: But really. The 11Pros have been the best pair I've ever played in. I love them. Copas are pretty great, too.

Adidas X 16

I use the firm ground cleats but they have many varieties.

Nike has always made an inferior product when it comes to soccer cleats.

That's why when you buy football boots you go to a company that specializes in making football boots. Ala Adidas. When I was about 13 I switched from Nike to Adidas and never looked back almost 20 years later.

Also those 300 dollar cleats are not meant for almost every day wear and tear. If you invest in a pair that expensive they should be for matches only and use something similar but a lower model of the same boot for practices and such. People who play on that regular of basis will burn through boot very fast. So buying an 80 to 100 pair for practice works just fine.

Adidas X 16

Its a good pair but are pretty much only meant for Forwards/Strikers and wing players. If you play in the back or in the center of midfield they won't work out so well.

I have the X 15 primeknit for matches which is more of an all around pair and the X 15.2 for playing in shitty conditions are practicing/having a kick around in.

Almost got the X 15 in white, still might b/c they are going cheap now.

The Ace line is great for CB's and holding/defensive mids.

The new Ace 16's are a great all around pair except for maybe forwards.

True, they are meant for attacking players. That X 15 in white looks fantastic and is so tempting but I've found that white cleats only look as good when they are clean lol. I know several guys that wear and love the Ace line (not the new 16s, nothing against them I just have yet to hear about them from someone).

Anyone paying 200+ for soccer cleats should be conned. BTW, Nike sucks in soccer. Adidas is still king...
