The boys opened up with a 7-1 thrashing of Portugal
Carleton, Sargent, and Akinola were freaking amazing !

Just out of curiosity, what is the liklihood of these teams fielding their best players in these games? Did we actually beat Portugal's best team 7-1? Will we get Brazils best team?

At that age group its all up in the air bc the talent pool is not narrowed down yet. Most the best players are with their clubs this time of year. The youth tournaments with each countries best talent on hand are usually in the summer. Like the Toulon tournament every year. Our kids usually hold their own every time we enter.

I've always enjoyed watching soccer during the world cup and stuff, but I've had a hard time getting into it more seriously when I'm from Alabama. I wish I could get into the Premier League, but I've never been able to develop a connection with any of the teams. With Atlanta United starting up, I'm getting more and more excited and trying to expand my knowledge a bit.
TL;DR: The stickied thread was very helpful, but still a noob

Depending on where you live in bama, look to watch a game with the American outlaws.
Mobile has a decent chapter.

Auburn/Birmingham for me, so it'd be a bit if a drive
I appreciate the info though
If I just happened to be in the area around a game time that'd be interesting to look into.

You aren't watching enough, or you're soulless.
You'll know it when it happens. Try watching every weekend. This gets easier when college football finishes. A player or a club will suck you in.

Lololololololo
The group too scared to start a Build the Wall chant when we played Mexico? Why would you ever want to do something with those pussies?

I'm just excited about having a club nearby to start supporting. I'm sure I'll settle on a Premier league club at some point, but it's not a priority for me or anything.

It's a natural feeling for a lot of people. Most Americans have no connection to the clubs since we are an ocean away. I became an Arsenal fan because I went to France during the 2006 World Cup and supported les bleus, and Arsenal had a ton of their players at the time (and a French coach). Just keep watching and eventually you will find a team you enjoy. Don't limit yourself to the premier league. If you want to follow a fun team with a young American, I suggest borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

My second favorite team even prior to Pulisic making the first team. So much fun to watch year in and year out, and now LFC plays the same way.
Speaking of. To the OP, don't get too attached to BvB just because of Pulisic. He'll be at Liverpool by his 21st birthday

Or he hasn't found the right league.... Give La Liga a chance.

I wonder how many non-soccer watchers have or even know what BeIn is?

I know right? I'm not looking forward to it from everything I've heard about it on TD.
