Thank god for Jedi being able to play 90 minutes every match, else we would be staring down the barrel of having Dejuan Jones starting a Copa America match

TIFWIW... I have heard the host of 'The Straight Red Card' podcast say it several times they quote one of our current senior team members. Unfortunately, my memory fails me as to which senior team members they heard it through.

Gregggggs put Ream at LB before too, don't tempt him with a good time. I really hope Weah doesn't have to move to RB, he's been our best attacking threat for a few years now.

That was pre-COVID Gregg when he was also using Dan Lovitz at LB and getting smoked by Mexico. 2019 was a really weird time for the USMNT. Our first choice wings were Pulisic and Morris, while it looked like Nick Lima was on track to become the first choice RB.

Seems odd to have to cut one guy.

I like Holden's idea of Ream CCV Richards with Jedi and Weah playing as wing backs.

I don't... Ask yourself a simple question. Which group are we strongest at CM or CB? Do you want more CB's in your lineup or more CM's.

Other takes....
GGG does not rate Maloney. According to his press conference. "Regarding Lenny... He is not in consideration for the Olympics ... picked up an injury played in the last game (90minutes BTW more than Adams) he just misses out due to some other guy performing at really high levels."

Maloney at Heidenheim in the squad 29 tines started 27 subbed in 2 times. Heidenheim finished 8th in the Bundesliga. T. Tillman could not even make the Bundesliga yet he is out performing Maloney. Gregg you can bring as many players as you want to camp why did you freeze him out. Calling out injuries is reminiscent of the way treated John Brooks.

Shaq Moore was chosen he is just coming off an injury and played 45 on the 15th and the 18th. Brian McBride USMNT legend called Shaq Moore "our best 1 v 1 defender." Dude can you shill any harder. Did you even watch the World Cup.

I won't cry too hard over Maloney. He is a 6 and is clearly behind Jonny and Tyler and you can even say Musah at that spot. Tillman is going to play more advanced and is probably in competition with Luca for his spot

I can reverse that and say that Musah and Johnny can each play the 8 role that Tillman is filling. Maloney is the only like for like for Adams' 6 role and Adams has not shown that he is completely healthy.

I’m not really worried about the best 26th man for the roster. I also don’t think there’s a massive difference between our backup RB options and think we probably end up playing Weah or McKennie there anyway.

More of a Musah like player. Can play the 6 but not a destroyer

Dude wanting the strongest lineup is wrong? Not worrying about the last spots on the roster got you Gregg starting Jesus in the world cup... Every spot counts.

Johnny has very little in common with Musah. He advances the ball well with forward passes and is not going to look to take people on the dribble like Musah does. He’s also shown he can take a decent shot, which Musah also lacks. Defensively he’s much stronger and has one of the best tackle success % in all of La Liga. They really aren’t very comparable in terms of their style.

And yet GGG played Musah alongside of McKennie as a 6/8 in his system.

Right, and he’s ok in that role but not great imo. But if you are looking to replace Adams then Johnny is going to be a better like for like replacement than Musah.
