Yedlin will be on the field, too. But as right winger, not a right back.

It’s 100% wasting Adams to put him at RB.

We need to get as much talent on the field as possible, and Yedlin is hands down one of our top 11 most talented players. Putting Adams at RB keeps Yedlin off the pitch, thereby putting a lesser player on it.

The future is bleak, for some reason we refuse to call in the greatest American player of all time. Demarcus Beasley must be brought back in from the wilderness. Without Beasley on the field there is no hope.

And who are they?

Sounds a lot like Pep’s 4-1-2-3 except he has the inverted wingback on the left.
We saw it a lot to start the year when Mendy was fit and when he and Sane played together. If I understand that article, Adams won’t be bombing on the overlap though and will tuck in instead.
I’m not an expert on Adams’ game, but I believe his best position is as a CM, or a deep lying playmaker of sorts (If I’m wrong then my bad lol). I’m curious if he’ll be able to orchestrate what Berhalter is looking for.
I tend to be against national team managers using ‘complicated’ or ‘advanced’ tactics because I feel like the players don’t really get enough time together to really help and read where each other will be unless they’re experienced in the system and with one another which sounds like a key factor in this role Adams will play.
Will be interesting to see it at work.

I don't really consider him to be any sort of playmaker. He can help in attack, but it's definitely not what he's best at.
When we're in possession, Adams (as the RB) will slide up into sort of a #6 role. He can pick and choose his spots to jump into the attack, but his main role will be to provide relief when we need to drop back and recycle and to shut down counter attacks (which he's excellent at). If we use McKennie as one of the dual #8/10s, then as Adams slides back into the RB role, McKennie will also drop back and take Adams's spot in CM.

I think this system also allows us to use 3 CBs if we don't have a capable LB available.

Another thing I’ve seen City do plenty.
With Mendy being made of glass City have run out Stones, Kompany/Otamendi at CB with Laporte playing on the left. He still got forward a decent bit though.
Still surprised that tactic held against Pool at home as well.

Yeah don't be surprised if Long or Ream start at "LB" for these games

We have one of the best to ever set foot on a soccer pitch and we refuse to use him. It’s infuriating

Game tomorrow and not a single person has taken a stab at starting11?
Posted on 3/21/19 at 2:33 am to GeismarGeauxer
4-3-3
Zardes up top
Lletget out left, Yedlin on the right wing
Attacking mids are Pulisic on the left and McKennie on the right. Bradley sits behind them.
Ream Brooks Miazga Adams
Horvath
This is my preferred lineup based on the roster for these friendlies and the comments Berhalter has made regarding where he will play certain players.
In possession we have a three man back line with Adams in the defensive mid role next to Bradley. On defense we go to a 4-4-2 with Pulisic and Zardes as the forwards with Bradley and McKennie in the midfield.

I can live with that based on what we have. Lletget on the same side of Pulisic really works since they can interchange and overlap each other with ease. I do think Arriola will get a start though based on recent form.

I could name probably 5-6 starters right now but that’s if we had everyone in camp

Who would you pick between Zardes, Baird, Morris, and Ramirez? I'd probably go with Zardes just based off familiarity.

Morris
its time to move on from Zardes

There's only about a 3 year difference between them. Zardes had 20 goals in 36 games last season in Berhalter's system. Morris missed all of last season and has only played RW in his 3 games this season.

shite I would throw Ramirez up there just simply because I know everything there is to know about Zardes and it isn't good enough so give someone else a chance
However, I feel that he will still start as a "control" so to speak to see how the setup with Pulisic and McKennie works around him compared to the previous games
