Nagbe? Its a friendly he has been playing a lot with AU in CL. Not sure when the next round is should AU pull a huge comeback.

USSF leadership is worse than Alleva/F. King and tUSMNT will continue to suffer because of it. They do not care about improving the quality of our National Team one iota. And they will be held even less accountable going forward with the expanded World Cup field

Pushing extra tournaments both at the MLS and National team level with no regard for griding the players into the ground says your wrong

Their close relationship with SUM, who put MLS interests above all other interests, says your wrong.

Was even $1 of the $150 million USSF surplus from a few years ago spent on fighting pay for play?

Pretty sure they are pushing for a tournament to replace one of the Gold Cups at the national level, and they are looking at adding one tournament just between MLS and Liga MX (and we don't even know what the proposal is. If the new tournament only involves teams not in CCL, then where's the issue?

Just because they do things differently than you would like doesn't mean they don't care about the USMNT getting better.

I don't know what any of it has gone to. Do you?

Have we heard what formation we will be playing in upcoming 2 games?

And how do you propose they use that $150 million to combat pay for play? With as many youth clubs as there are in this country, $150 million will get spent quickly, and then you're right back to where you started 2 years from now.

Do you think European teams play too many games? As it stands, MLS has 34 regular season games (~half the league doesn't make the playoffs). CCL teams play a max of 8 games (UCL and UEL teams play a minimum of 6, max of ~13). MLS competes in a domestic tournament (US Open) that's fairly similar to domestic tournaments in Europe (except countries like England have more than one). So how is this any different or so much worse than European clubs? Does the English FA not care about getting better since they play so many more games than MLS teams do?

ETA: some of the UCL/UEL teams can play at least 15 games. That's almost twice as many games as the max an MLS CCL team can play. Only 1 MLS team will play more than 4 CCL games this season.

ETA2: MLS teams that don't make the playoffs will have about 4 1/2 month off before the start of the next season and the players (except for 2022) don't have to worry about an international tournament taking up most of that time.

Damn, is that a good move? I used to think Yedlin would make a good winger but he never seemed to establish himself there when given the opportunity. I always assumed Adams would be put somewhere in the midfield. hmmmm

Maybe see a more attacking Yedlin.

He’s had some good runs and assists in PL games hasn’t he?

Berhalter doesn’t use his fullbacks in a traditional way. When we have the ball, Adams will basically be tucked into the midfield and have the freedom to attack.

This is a good time to experiment. I’ll give Berhalter the benefit of the doubt to try Adams in this role. He’s certainly thought for a while about how he would deploy the team with our full complement of players. I can guarantee this isn’t some random idea.

It’s 100% wasting Adams to put him at RB. We need to get as much talent on the field as possible, and Yedlin is hands down one of our top 11 most talented players. Putting Adams at RB keeps Yedlin off the pitch, thereby putting a lesser player on it.
