Goalkeepers: Drake Callender (Inter Miami), Ethan Horvath (Nottingham Forest), Matt Turner (Nottingham Forest)
Defenders: Sergiño Dest (PSV Eindhoven), Kristoffer Lund (Palermo), Mark McKenzie (Genk), Kevin Paredes (Wolfsburg), Tim Ream (Fulham), Chris Richards (Crystal Palace), Antonee Robinson (Fulham), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United), Joe Scally (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Midfielders: Johnny Cardoso (Internacional), Ben Cremaschi (Inter Miami), Luca de la Torre (Celta Vigo), Weston McKennie (Juventus), Yunus Musah (AC Milan), Malik Tillman (PSV Eindhoven)
Forwards: Brenden Aaronson (Union Berlin), Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Cade Cowell (San Jose Earthquakes), Ricardo Pepi (PSV Eindhoven), Christian Pulisic (AC Milan), Tim Weah (Juventus)
I have to admit, I'm drawing a blank on who Lund is. And good to see Cremaschi get a call up, he's been the unsung hero in Messi's Miami revival.

Danish-American LB for Palermo. Remember hearing his name a while back but this one is a surprise for sure

Shocked and pleased by this roster.

Reyna injured again I take it?

Yep. Same injury from the Nations league game back in June. He just returned to full training this week with Dortmund so there was no way he was getting called in regardless of the other shite.

Scuffed pod mentioned on the recent Monday review that Reyna has played 20% of the available bundesliga minutes for Dortmund over the past 2 years. Glass cannon.

Gregg Berhalter announces that BJ Callaghan will stay with #USMNT as an assistant coach. Mikey Varas will join from the U-20s, Fabian Otte has been hired as a goalkeeping coach from Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Isaac Guerrero is in the process of joining from Venezia.

The annoying thing about it is that all of his injuries seem to happen in USMNT camps

Greggo is live with media now. Says Tyler Adams, Gio Reyna, CCV, Zack Steffen, Taylor Booth, Walker Zimmerman, Sean Johnson, Josh Sargent, DeJuan Jones & Erik Palmer Brown all ruled out of this camp due to injury

Any obvious exclusions outside of the injured?
No one really jumps out to me, especially as I think Brooks is just not going to be a part of the team anymore.

Even then, who of those 4 CBs called in do you think Brooks should be in over.
Ream is a better version of what Brooks is, Richards was our best CB in Nations League, Zimmerman is arguably our most consistent CB and McKenzie was the best player in all of Belgium last season. (Really wish he made a move this window)

How much of a gauge will it be against Uzbekistan and Oman since this squad should be capable of playing out of group stage.
Happy to see Drake Callender on the squad, he has been performing well with Inter Miami.

None most likely. We heard rumors of it being a mls/fringe roster but since this is Greggggggs first camp back I bet he wanted as many of the A team as possible to address them and get the ball rolling. He basically said as much.

Only 3 MLS players. Greg is finally learning

How much will the Gregg / Reyna dispute going to affect the team when Reyna returns?

I think it’ll be a nonfactor, the USMNT needs Reyna and Reyna needs the USMNT.
They will probably never like each other again, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get along. If one sabotages the other, he’s also sabotaging himself.

Ehhhhhhh. He has also been dropped from the first XI at the start of this season and has had a few bad moments already
Not arguing with the injuries he shouldn't be next man up (you could say Austin Trusty) but just putting some more recent perspective in here

He started and had an assist last game.
Posted on 8/30/23 at 4:00 pm to Broski
Correct. I believe it was also in that game he had a clown moment that led to the other team's first goal
