The league doesn’t bring in quality defenders
Especially ones from Europe, the overwhelming amount of older European players who come are attacking players.
What are you talking about

No it isn’t

The standard has definitely improved from an attacking player
???
Anyway you admit you don’t even watch the league. I do. The quality has improved year over year, mostly from a change in player purchase strategy and an improving homegrown system. Guys like Reus and Giroud aren’t coming in and dominating the league. Giroud had 15g/8a his last Serie A season. He literally just scored his first MLS goal

We all know those guys are bought for their aura (and marketing) at this point more so than what they can contribute on the field.
Teams that actually want to succeed are spending more cleverly on mid career euros or South American players. See: Cuypers, Dreyer, Evander.
Feel free to google those because you don’t know who I’m talking about since you don’t watch the league regularly.
Atlanta has a great track record of this and has generally splashed cash wisely.

The tactics from most teams is the same, the classic American style of let’s out athlete each other and just play at 100mph.
Tell me more about how you don’t actually watch the league.

Just because the attacking player has improved doesn’t mean the overall standard of the league has
Watching mid level players embarrass sub standard defenders doesn’t mean the overall league standard is going up
I know who those guys are
Timber fans were pissed Evander got traded
But yes down play my footy knowledge because you don’t like the hard truths I’m saying about MLS.

This league has gone from not being competitive with Mexican teams to regularly beating them in competition. How can you not see the progress? You genuinely don’t want to admit anything good about MLS. It’s weird.
Odd way of saying “my own opinion based on decade-old generalizations.”
Never change homie

because the majority of the American EPL viewers are City, Chelsea, ManU, Arsenal and Tottenham fans, so pro/rel never really applies for them anyway.
Pussies.

I don’t think this is an only American thing.
Lots of countries have fans of their small local team as well as a favorite bigger club that plays in Europe.
You don’t have to only root for MLS or USL.
Example. I root for all the schools I’ve attended. Unless they play each other then I either root for who has a shot of going all the way if not I root for just a fun game to watch

Another example. People have a EPL team they root for as well as an MLS team to root for.
I know some people root for teams based on which ones USMNT players are on.
I know I do.
Milan
Juve
PSV
Betis
Bournemouth
Coventry
Norwich
Palace

Was watching USL Jagermeister Cup today and was shocked to see that former "young darkhorse for 2014 World Cup" Luis Gil is toiling away in USL 1 with Spokane Velocity.

He’s fellow teammate Andre Lewis came on and gave the USMNT a scare in the 2019 gold cup semis.
We actually won that one
