They used to have toughness and grit. The 2002-2014 era had heart. And they didn’t embarrass themselves in the Round of 16.

2022 and 2026 got laughed out of the World Cup. The program still hasn’t recovered from the 2018 shock to the system.

American soccer requested all games be played on the west coast.

Balogun didn't play bad but he should have had a goal or two.

Yea 02-14 we were extremely boring but we punched over our weight.

Until get get a grown arse man like Haaland to play soccer we are gonna struggle.

The problem is now we have a dog shite GK when that was a brick wall for us.

When you bank on upper middle class academy kids for your homegrown talent, you’re not going to find much grit.

Build the developmental program like basketball has built AAU. Find the sponsors. Go get the talent even if their parents aren’t in a country club.

Home world cup and crash out like this. I won't say it was an outright failure but it for sure was a disappointment. No teeth. Pathetic today.

First two goals weren't his fault. Third goal was atrocious. Fourth goal didn't matter.

I miss Tom Howard.

The US Soccer federation should be saturating the inner city with small pitches and soccer balls.

Then once we identify the potential talent get them free spots in the academies. The other way could be leverage some of those groups that give athletes massive loans that give them ten percent of the earnings in the future. Us soccer should be recruiting using the contracts the euros get its big numbers so it should sell well

Certainly seemed to light a fire under Belgium's arse, at a time when they were coming off a bad game and were going to be focused and locked in regardless. In other words Belgium definitely had the motivational edge.

We just looked soft from the jump. You could argue that all 3 Belgium goals were because we played soft.

That damn crash fricked us. Davies was a beast in the early fifa games because he was so fast.

With our athletes we should be more physical and faster than this team was. I can live with us being out skilled but having Belgians out jump us, be faster than us and out physical us is embarrassing

Unfortunately, that was the worst case scenario for the US. American sports fans like power, toughness, and brashness. The ratings will probably be big. Non-soccer fans were interested. Then the team tonight looked scared and intimidated from literally the first minute. That’s not going to appeal to potential new fans.

So US soccer fandom will remain the domain of the nerds in the student section who get to the football/basketball games 3 hours early to sit on the front row and the dweebs who don’t actually like sports but are “fans” because they don’t want to conform with mainstream society.

All 4 goals were direct results of frick ups from the back line (Ream, Richard’s, Freeman and Freese)

That’s unacceptable if you want to compete with the big boys. Sound defense is always going to be needed.

Yea tonight pretty much validated the haha soccer is gay common sports fans view with how bad we shite the bed.

The lack of heart and the CP flopping were a nail for four years in soccer growing here.
