Totally outplayed all match by Bees. Really lackluster. Tosin was a bright spot. Bees dominated possession. If this is what we have to look forward to with Liam, we’re fricked. Didn’t deserve the 3 points.

They had the better first half (by a lot). The second half was a draw.
Them not getting anything out of the match was pretty harsh.
As for the attacking 3rd…it was more of the same.
Still, 2-0 against a pretty good Brentford squad is acceptable.

This game was a testament to how thin the margins are. CFC has been on the other side of these games including this season. I’ll take the W. Hopefully Rosenior can get his tactics right for next match.

Agreed.
Arsenal drew with Forest today.
Liverpool drew as well.
City lost to United
Spurs lost to the Hammers
Slim margins indeed.
Just for clarity though, Brentford was ahead of us in the table before today’s match.
They aren’t a bunch of rummies.

Squeezed by Pafos . Seeing a lot of the same shite as we did with Enzo. Would love to see some different tactics rather than the same inversion of backs to midfielders. Lots of side passing too.
Nothing dynamic until Estaveo came on. Just dull boring football against an overmatched opponent who we let hang around. Oh well.

Their keeper was world class on the day.

It’s the same roster.

So why change gaffers if the tactics are going to be the same? Chelsea might, might add one piece but he’s stuck with these guys until the summer.

While the game against Pafos was uninspiring, I don't know what else CFC could have done. The official disallowing Enzo's goal was a terrible call and it allowed Pafos to continue to just sit back with 10 in the box all night. CFC kept attacking, got 15 corners, and converted 1 of them. As Jimmy pointed out, the Pafos goal keeper made some world class saves on Hato and Caicedo.
I don't think the front office was dissatisfied with Maresca's tactics. They clearly butted heads over lineups. Maresca making known that he was interested in the MC gig was the final blow.

Badashile is a train wreck

Place isn’t the same squad without Guehi. I’m sorry we couldn’t snag him. Estavao is tremendous. What a threat. Santos filling in for Cole quite well. Chalobah making up for Badashile’s deficiencies which are numerous.

Agree with all you said.
Do we see Lavia again this season?

I’d hope so he’s good when healthy, but never healthy.
That last 10-20 minutes was absolute shite. We can’t bleed out a win. Allowing a goal against a 10 man side who were playing out the game is inexcusable. But 3 points are 3 points.

It was a bad look to give up the goal, but it was entirely on Enzo Fernandez. He flopped on the goal line and obstructed Sanchez. At that point 5 subs were on for Chelsea too.

4 wins in 5 is a solid start for the new gaffer. It’s a big game versus Napoli. With a win in Naples, the Blues could go on a bit of a run.

Went on a pretty good run after our last trip to Naples
