In the future, maybe move Pulisic to the RW and put Mihailovic at the #10.

That looked bad. I will be surprised if he plays the next game

High ankle sprains have external rotation. This was an inversion injury. Probably tore the ligaments on the outside of the ankle. Could be 6 weeks

Yep that is 100% ligament tear, will need surgery.

Why can’t we have nice things?

You’re right, I didn’t see the impact/landing before I made that post. I was going by where it looked like he was holding on his upper ankle/shin.

Pump the breaks. Several months to the GC. If he broke something, which is possible, it might require surgery. If he just tore ligaments then the layoff is much shorter.

Technically a sprain, at certain levels, is a tear so both can be right

Most ankle ligament tears on the side of the ankle Weston hurt don’t require surgery. If he has persistent instability of the ankle then he will need the surgery for sure though.

You’re right, but it depends what grade ligament tear. That looked horrible. Hope it isn’t as bad as I feel like it is.

High ankle sprain is a syndesmosis injury (the connective tissue between the bones of the lower leg), whereas a sprain is of the ligaments themselves.

My guess is complete rupture of the anterior talofibular ligament (grade 3) and possibly a tear of the calcaneofibular ligament. I had a similar injury with a rotational component that put me in a boot for months because of a bad bone bruise.

You’re right, but even if there’s a chance of coming back weaker if he opts to not have surgery, at 20 years old, you don’t rush back for the GC, you get surgery.

Maybe I’m overreacting
Kane has had 2 injuries just like that & was back in 6-8 weeks both times
