For the first time ever, we have more top-end talent than Mexico. It's just a question of all these young guys gelling together and Gregg picking the right system.

I'm so optimistic for what these next 6 years can be.

Can't wait for Alexi to grade the first half as a C+

Yup, I leave that core group on and sub around them. They need as much chemistry as they can possibly build.

Goals happen but that is why everyone who watches consistently is unsure on Miazga

He makes some naive decisions for a pretty experienced CB.

Berhalter knows Brooks is a starter. Think he wanted to see Ream vs Miazga.

Ream is the locked in left CB backup. Really the fight is between Miazga, Long, Richards, and maybe Zimmerman for the right CB spot.

Yeah I think people are forgetting how little they've all played together. I just want to see what Richards can do.

We're looking this good without our best player.

So promising.

Striker is still the big concern with this team, but it is nice to see Gioacchini out there being so opportunistic. those ugly goals are exactly what this team needs. A guy with a nose for the ball. We have creators, we need a finisher.

Soto not playing makes me nervous. I think we're gonna lose him to Chile. But if I had to trade Soto for Musah, I would do that trade every time.

This team is young and good. And Panama is exactly the sort of CONCACAF team we should effortlessly mollywhop. They're 8th in the region, so we could see them in this year's final 8-team group. This is the caliber of team we need to beat to qualify. Need to bank those easy points. Good sign that we can do that.

Everyone but Llanez and Cannon have looked really good. Gio much better this game, more comfort going inside. Gioachnini has a goalscorers nose. Which we need up top. McKennie/Adams/Musah doing a great job flowing in the midfield.

How have these two been bad?

Miazga was the worst of the bunch solely because he gave up the goal.

Miazga also was a key part of the third goal. He giveth and taketh. But I love him for qualifying. We need a big, mean, borderline dirty player on this squad. CONCACAF is knife fight at times, bring a guy who can hurt people.

The problem with Miazga is that he plays like Kevin Garnett.

He'll bully the little guy, but is afraid of contact from those around his size.

I think Ayo and Dike can help with that. A big, strong, technical finisher will fit in nicely with all the creativity around them.

Not bad, but just not connecting the way the rest of the players have. Llanez looks like a YNT player out there. Can tell talent, but not quite putting it together. Cannon hasn't had much to do, but doesn't create much going forward. Probably has something to do with seeing Dest on the other side be able to dribble and control possession, while Cannon is straight up the side and whip in cross no matter who is there.

you’d like to assume that’s something that will change as he gets older and finishes filling out his frame

Yeah, but he's also 25 and was bought by Chelsea 6 years ago.
