Agreed. I think Lletget fits in well with this team.

It’s kind of funny the hate he gets. I remember, not long ago, when he was the next big thing.

This board celebrated when Bruce took over for Jurgen and immediately called in Lletget, Villafana and Feilhaber.

That was not that long ago.

Lletget very well could have helped us qualify for 2018.

Easy there, champ.

The problems with that team were not going to be solved by one player, let alone Lletget.

We only needed one goal against T&T. I'm not saying he would help us reach the knockout round, just to qualify.

I mean sure, but by that logic, you could say anyone could've helped us qualify.

My point being, in October of 2017, I think there is a list of guys you would look to poach a goal ahead of a healthy Lletget.

He would have been a potential starter in Nov 2017. At least one of the 3 subs.

We just don't know that.

He played like 15 minutes of WCQ before he got hurt. Granted he scored a goal, but you're running rampant with the hypothetical here.

Looking at that Trinidad lineup, he's maybe subbing on for Arriola or Nagbe. By no means and I'm feeling confident about him getting us a goal then though.

I think if we had another person that could play on the wing (Lletget), then Lletget would have started at LW, Arriola at RW, and we would have added another CM, which would have greatly increased our chances of not getting scored on.

Good performance. It will only get better the more these guys play together too

Winners:
Dest - MotM. On another level. The question is are you more comfortable with Cannon/Yedlin at RB or Robinson at LB
Sargent - played very well. Great play on the Aaronson goal. Had a good goal chance blocked on a really good slide tackle in the box in the first half
Musah - another solid outing. Had a few great moments driving the ball forward from deep. Was solid in possession in the final third as well
Reyna - set up a few good chances but also missed a few. Still overall positive
Aaronson - more quality wing depth here. Great news especially with Morris’ injury.
Gioachini - give him more looks on the wing after what we saw in his short appearance. Set up a goal and one other good chance
Acosta - solid game at the 6. This spot is thin as hell behind Adams so if he can claim the backup that would be great to have

Losers:
Cannon - sloppy in possession at times and awful play on the goal. To me you still need to give looks at Yedlin or Reynolds to make sure moving Dest to LB is the right move. The door opened more tonight for another RB IMO

I would really love to see Dike against N Ireland Sunday, just to see what the attack could look like with this supporting cast. I really like Sargent, but Dike has the potential to change the dynamics of our attack in a positive way if he continues to develop.

Also, I’m no MLS homer, but in the RB/LB discussion, I want to see Vines in bigger moments in these summer competitions, whether it’s Nations League, Gold Cup, Olympics, or some combination. If he can prove himself capable of defending at that level, I think he could be in for a move to Europe, and I think he could put himself in the mix for Olympic qualifying. He’s no Dest obviously, but compared to the other RB/LB options, he brings a ton to the attack with his skill and creative passing.

I thought I saw that Dike picked up a slight knock and was going be held out. But maybe that was just for yesterday.

I think Robinson is our best going forward option for pure LB. He isn't great defensively but I am not ready to put Vines up ahead of him yet. The argument for me comes down to if you think Cannon is less of a liability on the field that Robinson combined with how impactful are Dest and Pulisic being on the same side of the field.

Missed the game. Just caught the highlights. Dest continues to impress me. The guy has incredible ball skills, vision and quickness. He and Pulisic on the field at the same time will create some great opportunities to score.

I want to see more battles between Vines and Bello after Bello spends a few months with Heinze. I think Bello is the better attacker right now, but Vines is more consistent defensively.

I’m still not sure that Robinson is a good fit for Berhalter’s system. Surely Robinson offers pace and crossing that you like to see, but in his recent USMNT minutes he doesn’t seem very comfortable in the build up, ball retention, and combining aspects, where as Vines has excelled in those areas.

To me, this may be a case where Robinson would be a better LB option than Vines for most clubs, but Vines may be a better fit for what USMNT needs at LB.

As someone else said, I’m also interested in how Bello develops and what he can show this summer with the USMNT.

#USMNT Roster Update:

John Brooks (@VfLWolfsburg_EN), Reggie Cannon (@boavistaoficial) and Nicholas Gioacchini (@SMCaen) have all returned to their respective clubs.

Our squad stands at 23 players ahead of #NIRvUSA on Sunday in Belfast. LINK
