McKennie and even Musah were trying some stuff up the middle. It didn’t work but I was pleased with them.

Besides Paredes and Tillman, our worst starter was Balogun.

That’s just not true my guy.

Just because we didn’t score until then doesn’t mean we weren’t trying before that.

Pepi’s goal came off a cross, does that mean we weren’t trying that before he scored too?

I think a big problem with the USMNT is that we have serious trouble breaking down bunkers. Yeah cosching needs to be more imaginative in figuring out ways to break them down sooner, but the players have to be better in taking advantage of the chances we do get against those bunkers. We definitely didn’t do that in the first half… and we had a few chances to do so.

Paredes’ Robbie Findley touch on that McKennie pass when he had a open run to goal made me want to dropkick a baby

We had 26 shots so it’s not like this was some of those early World Cup Qualifiers last cycle where Gregg 100% got the tactics wrong when we’d dominate the possession but have like the same amount of shots as the opponent because we’d just listlessly pass the ball around looking for the perfect shot that never came.

Now, I think the only thing you can say coaching needs to do better is instruct the players that the ball has to go in the net and to do that, you have to put the ball on target.

In case y’all were wondering about the delay in extra time, some loser female ran out onto the field with a Palestine flag. The cops roughed her up pretty good.

Sticking Tillman and Paredes for 62 minutes

I’m only guessing he kept them on knowing he’s not going to play them at tnt. And didn’t want to bring on legs he is saving for a bigger tougher road game

The only problem is that we played a shite ton of guys 96 minutes. Mistake not to rotate more although we had to get goals I guess and our bench is largely trash or inexperienced.

Good thing we got a 3 goal lead heading there, making it easier to rotate the squad without much fear of blowing it.

I’m not saying he’s right. I’m just trying to guess at what he’s thinking. A lot of biased opinions and I just try to bring up different thoughts to spur conversation. I enjoy everyone’s discussion on here.

I agree that was probably his thinking and like I said, his hands were kinda tied with rotating more guys since it was 0-0 until the 82nd minute.

But even if it meant Aaronson and Pepi got more run (and more tired) in the second half, it's on Gregg for not taking at least one of Tillman or Paredes off at the half, if not both. Pretty much all of the opportunities that we wasted in the 1st half was because of their poor play and that wasn't going to magically change in the 2nd.

To be fair, she got booed the whole time. No one was cheering for her.

Was a super frustrating game to be at. The difference between Weah/Pulisic from Ghana to Paredes/Tillman today was absurd. Hopefully that was just a nerves thing for them, but they were both horrendous.

Thought going to Pepi and Balogun up top was smart and made a big difference. I really wish Aaronson could find form again, but man, he’s just struggling so mightily right now. Jedi and Ream are so freaking solid on the left. CCV didn’t have much to do but was solid in possession. Honestly I thought Dest was not his best tonight, but he’s still so talented.

Palestine and Pride flags flying in the same stadium is also super Austin.

I can verify. It wasn't a resounding "boo" but loud enough.

Agreed. He was very frustrating to watch. He has such good ball skills and is quick, but he holds the ball too long and should have shot the ball several times when he was inside the 18, and opted to pass it wide which led to nothing. I'm not sure why he's so afraid to shoot. He's good at creating space for himself.
