Pretty sure he did after Adams finally come on for Ream. He should've gone straight there when Dest was subbed off. Instead they moved Ream out to LB and left him out there for another 20 minutes or so and Llanez basically walked past him to score.
Agreed. The tactical change should have come the moment Llainez came on. But I also think the defenders centrally should have done a better job covering.

Gregg didn’t give up two goals on set pieces because of zonal marking (lol), and he also didn’t get ejected from the game.
Lol
Ok

I still don't think Acosta was that poor after the first 25 minutes or so when the entire team looked lost. He's certainly not going to be a preferred choice to start but they're absolutely going to need him in qualifying. Yueill is definitely not ready for even CONCACAF teams, and Adams will unfortunately miss some time with injuries based on the last couple of years. Musah needs to be in the midfield in some capacity come qualifying time, but there's not a better backup option than Acosta out there right now IMO. For better or worse.
I want Musah to get a shot at the 6 in the CRC friendly. I’m not sure if he has the defensive awareness needed but he’s as athletic as Acosta but can play faster and progress the ball much better if we’re trying to break a press. Him not getting any minutes this week is the biggest headscratcher for me.

What point in the match was this? I might go to r/footballdownloads and try to find a replay

I wish McKennie had put that through to Weah.

Seems like a lot of the media is echoing the same things. Love the result even if we didn't look good
Even the host of the United States of Soccer said GB needs to start keeping it simple. That dude is one of the biggest homers out there to the point it gets in the way of how smart he actually is
He had Herc Gomez and first thing he said was basically no need to get into the micro level of this match. He said good teams find a way to win despite looking awful and that Gregg was tactically a mess.
But a team this talented can over come those things like they did last night.
The future is bright boys

You’re right. I don’t think Llanez’s goal was solely on Ream, but it was the culmination of them attacking him directly all night. Ream was having to give everyone so much cushion to avoid being run past that he was 7-8 yards from Llanez when he received the ball and couldn’t try to step out and close him down before the shot.

People were shitting on Sargent for that miss, and I was thinking, Weston should have made the right pass in the first place instead of shooting.

I’m still fricking amped from last night.

Pulisic is now 1 goal away from entering the top 10 all-time for the USMNT. Last night's goal pushes him past Cobi Jones. 1 more will have him tied for 9th with Earnie Stewart, Demarcus Beasley, and Michael Bradley.

Yep. We had them 4v3 going forward with Pulisic making the late run to join. Should have gotten a higher % chance there.

Musah plays right wing for his club team. I don't ever seen him playing as a 6. I like him more centrally than out wide, but he's best as an attacking threat.

McKennie's goal puts him at 36th all-time. (Tied with Lletget, and McKennie has played 1 more game)
Reyna's goal brings him to 75th all-time.

I thought Weston not making the right pass was the worse play, and I felt Sargent was getting more of the hate there.
Obviously Weston is far better overall so he’s given far more of a pass, I just meant I didn’t think the criticism on that specific play was fair.

I’m not arguing that it’s his best position. I agree that he’s best as an 8. But McKennie has one 8 spot locked down and it seems like Berhalter rates Lletget for that second spot for now in our 4-3-3. In that case I still want Musah on the field if Adams can’t go.
Not ideal but worth a look. If he sucks then Acosta is our backup 6 until one of the young guys can unseat him (Sands, Busio, Williamson, etc)
