Admittingly so, I'm a soccer noob so break it down for me but other than getting caught out of position and giving up the free kick, then getting his pocket picked at the end of the half, where has Zusi been "atrocious"?
I saw several good defensive plays the first 35 mins of the game. Is he playing to high up? If so, does that come from playing his entire career as a midfielder?

He had zero to do with the Panama goal.

He was adequate until Panama shifted all of their focus on him after the 33rd minute.

All the pieces of our back four are hodge podge tonight. Lends itself to lack of communication and cohesion. Things like that always expose themselves on set pieces IMO.

That's true (but not my point), and he's just a terrible guy to try and match up with Quintero. He's gotten fortunate a couple times when he's been out of position or when he's been beaten.
I'm not sure we have anyone better to put back there right now. I was just pointing out how poor he's been.

I was honestly just trying to get an explanation on what I was apparently missing.

PASS THE BALL, NAGBE. Nice run though.

Nagbe needed to give that up, but that was incredible dribbling.
And fwiw, I think Ream has been worse than Zusi.

That was an awesome cross from Villafaña.

If Pulisic hits that, he becomes king of Panama.
