The fact that that was called against Trapp is laughable.

And seriously Jurgen wtf is he doing going full retard on tactics in the second halves of games?

Well that was a little disappointing. Have some things to work on Jurgen.

If this game wasn't 70% or so of our actual National team I wouldn't be worried.

They have totally shite the bed in the second halves lately. It seems like they play not to lose and slow the game. Well, it hasn't worked for quite some time.

All went downhill after Mix came out.

That was not a talented Chilean squad aside from Mark Gonzalez. That was the most disjointed USA team I've seen in a while. WTF was going on?

Sorry I was busy and yeah it was lame. Busy watching last 10 minutes. Will be more insulting next time.

That was tough to watch. By the end of the match, it looked like rec league shite.

I am not going to beat myself over it, but the only thing I give a shite about at this point is they are clicking by the time Gold Cup comes around.

I don't think Clint is fit for the CAM role. I'd rather see Mix or Nguyen there with Dempsey playing in the top 2. There was a ton of space in front of Diskerud and Bradley which pulled them forward and exposed our back 3. We need just a bit more defensive effort to at least cut passing lanes from that spot.

These games are intended to learn something--winning is utterly meaningless. Ultimately, I'm not sure what we learned, but I know what we didn't learn: How to do a back 3.

As long as they're clicking and winning by Gold Cup time, none of this other crap matters.

My personal takeaways were pretty simple. Jones is at best still learning that he has to be "safer" than he was as a midfielder or at worst is showing that his instincts are too ingrained to be "reprogrammed". Yedlin is perfect to play as the RM/RWB in this formation (shocker, right?). Brek actually worked back and got forward on the left side when I expected one or the other (most likely just a lot of attack). Dempsey needs to play a higher position (see above post).

I also had some speculative thoughts after the game. Fabian Johnson will be a monster on the left of the formation (Brek to bench or is there another position he can play?). JAB will be a monster in the middle with his size and relative speed. Bradley should still be dropped a bit farther (seemed to have a higher starting position than Mix).

Yeah, I'd rather have Mix be the CAM than Dempsey.
