He didn't complete a forward pass in the first half, judging by the chart. I like his energy, but he has a ways to go technically...and I think Hendo feels the same way.

But he still has time.

I think you are the only person who didn't think Gyau looked good. You must have come into the game with dislike for him. That's the only reason to say he has looked poor.

Diskerud has been the best player on the pitch thus far. Gyau looks creative and strong. Fabian Johnson has been playing great defense when he is back, but God he leaves it open sometimes.

Orozco is bad and should feel bad.

Gyau has looked solid. he's been just a bit off with his passes forward, but he has good ball control and has looked good taking players on. I believe he's made a few steals as well.

He's fast and athletic but his only option is to stop and pass it backwards. I'm not sure what everyone is seeing.

I saw him receive the ball on the wing, beat his man off the dribble to the byline, and put a poor cross into Cech's arms. He doesn't appear to be the typical American speedster. Just needs to get better at crossing from what he's done so far.

You can't teach his athleticism but he's done nothing with the ball at his feet and a defender in his way, he shat his pants every single time.

I'm rooting for him, he's playing in the right system but he needs to get first team action and not 3rd-4th division games.

Yes, a bit. Some of those passes just had the wrong weight on them and the cross was blocked.

Change that part to "do needless stepovers" or "dribble out of bounds" and you would be describing GAM circa 2005.

Just sayin'

Well Guzan did what Guzan always does; give up no goals.

I guess if we had more quality wingers I wouldn't worry too much about Gyau or try to see the positives in his play. You show me another young winger we have that can run and dribble like that and is playing for teams I can't pronounce, and I'll look at him too.

No question. He is unpolished. But he is young, quick, and strong, and already has the ability to go past players on the ball. I know this sounds like what we've said about a lot of young prospects in the past, but he seems to have a greater technical ability at his age than a lot of the promising counterparts before him.

Part of his problem is he was pushing too far ahead of his team when on the ball, and having to wait for players to catch up. He needs to learn the pace of the game and how to add players in to build the attack alongside him, instead of bursting ahead and trying to go alone.

Like I said, he needs to calm down. You said it best earlier. He looks like some sort of rabid animal who is trying to beat his man by making as many twitch movements as possible. That said, he has a ton of speed and athleticism.

That's GAM now whenever he spends more than 2 seconds on the ball

That hardly happens now, though.
