Again, Dempsey was not a 9, he even says he's not a 9. He played there out of necessity at times, but he's a 10. Same with Donovan.

Both were tucked in wingers in Bob Bradley’s empty bucket formation, and both played on the wing for their club teams. They deputized as forwards if no one else was available (Donovan at the 2011 gold cup and Dempsey at the 2014 World Cup) but people saying they were strikers is kind of disingenuous.

Atleast Klinsmann brought in some German American talent. Jermaine jones? Thoughts?

Klinsmann played defensive midfielders on the wing and wingers a D mid (Bedoya against Brazil lol). And Bob Bradley was who recruited Jones but he didn’t make the 2010 WC squad because of a leg injury.

If Poch leaves Pulisic off the WC squad then we can talk about them in similar terms. At least Poch mostly plays players in their natural positions (Musah at wing aside). Plus Poch actually understands tactics (and gives tactical instructions, not just Jurgen’s “play nasty”).

I would like to clarify that she actually asked us who would be the MVP tonight, and McCaig gave the name of a player who is currently in England recovering from an Achilles injury.

You two, knowing that reel would end up on TD, smartly hid your ladies behind you. Well done

- Despite the goal this game was another data point of Pat not being good enough for this level

- Tillman with another good showing and his quality is shining above almost everybody else on the field

- I thought Sullivan actually had a few nice moments in the game

- Adams started slow but really grew into the game

- Tolkien had a chance to really steal some minutes from Arf but not sure he did it with this performance. It was up and down

MVMT legacy slim manta blue (I had to look it up lol but here’s the link). The older MVMT watches I had had a more scratch resistant face though.
