The US is only myriad little things away. Absolutely no doubt. People bitchin´and worryin´ ´bout the scoreline, need to shut up.

These things change, and tremendously.

It´s like a very talented JV going against the seniors. They´re always going to lose, and be demoralized, but, there are flashes.

And when they become seniors. Watch out.

Again, kudos to Tab Ramos.

Things I liked.

Possession - we were calm and collected on the ball. Very little kick ball. Kept it very well.

Composure - Under pressure and in tight spaces we kept a level head for the most part. You could see them thinking their way out of spots as opposed to just blasting it back to the other team.

Creativity - patience and composure on the ball lead to some great 1 or 2 touch stuff, and we put together moves designed to break the defense down instead of just lucking up into spots.

Our defense, first touch, final ball, and finishing need some work, but overall I'm optimistic about the future. We are definitely continuing to plod along forward. How much more could you ask for?

Just got back from the match so I'll upload pics later. I was probably one of a handful of Americans there. Didn't see many Spaniards so just about everyone was Turkish. We got made fun of quite a bit once we went down 4-0

Defensively, you guys nailed it. From what I saw we were extremely poor. We tried to play a high back line and all they did was a simple through ball and it killed us. I was impressed by our midfield and the composure they had. They did a pretty good job of constantly switching the ball. Only problem I had was they allowed themselves when we had the ball to be sucked forwards which left a huge space between the mids and back line.

That golazo by Gil was fantastic. Wasn't at my end as I was behind the opposite goal but it sure was a beauty.

On another note, my ticket allowed me entrance to the Ghana-France game. All I can say is neither of those teams will be easy. France looked like men compared to Ghana. Pogba was a huge presence in the midfield and played like a man. Ghana won't be easy either. They aren't nearly as big but they are fast and can stick around a game. Their defense let them down in the second half. France was just too good.

Still optimistic but we need to take care of business from here on out. We could use a little help with the other teams struggling

In honor of our U20's pretty ballsy performance today, I present to you the best US U20 performance that I've ever seen

(Keep in mind how many players who are still relevant actually played)

there was nothing ballsy, but the difference is very, very subtle. The scoreline did not reflect reality, simply the difference between professionalism and innocence.

There's a bitching bar fight going on in Brazil right now

ETA: And, if you thought that I meant that a number of them are, I meant that there are like two who are still relevant to the national team

When they beat Spain for a recent U whatever title, I think it was U19, Griezmann was the only white kid.

Henry, Anelka, Abidal, etc. opened the flood gates, from here on out, the french teams are going to be filled with players that aren't from the mainland, but all of their island territories.
