That was clearly handled outside the box by Vicario. Not sure how he got away with it.

I don’t know how I feel about this result tbh. On one hand you’ll take a 3-1 win all day long, but on the other there was a long stretch in the second half where you couldve easily seen brentford tie it up, which would’ve been so demoralizing given the fact that Tottenham should’ve been up 4 or 5 at that point.
They are just so unbelievably wasteful with their opportunities. As nice as Johnson’s goal was, he had a couple other opportunities where he just completely fricked it. There were also a couple of occasions where a simple square ball to solanke would’ve resulted in a tap in. As a result of all of the pressure they end up running themselves ragged, without a large enough cushion to show for it, and then you’re left somewhat exposed in the latter stages.
For a 3-1 win, and after utter domination in the first half, it was needlessly stressful because they couldn’t finish their chances, but I’ll take the W.

I hear ya. It was good that it was entertaining at least but yeah, Johnson and Son could/should have better more. One takeaway was how much Maddison looked like his old self.

Yeah he was really good today. I’m probably being a bit too negative overall tbh.
Hopefully the midweek game allows the squad to continue to build momentum leading into United away next weekend.

Nah you’re being a realist. That’s what separates us from the goons.

Anybody’s got a good brunch/linch recommendation in Kansas City?
Slightly sauced at a wedding right now.
Watched the match while driving across the great Iowa cornfield.
Thomas Frank looks like Rufus Scrimgeour. Brentford are a solid squad, good result but Spurs would’ve been in trouble if Wissa would have been healthy. Ben Davies won us this match.

No idea, sorry I can’t help you there. Hope it was a fun time. Makes me laugh imagining someone driving through the middle of nowhere Iowa watching Spurs with their phone on the dash.

Went to the Spurs-Brentford game. Was all I expected. The stadium is gorgeous. We had great seats. Enjoyed singing along with all the crowd songs I'd seen on TV. We were pretty close to the Brentford section and a lot of good natured and not so good natured ribbing going on. Was glad to see them shut up in 2nd half. We had Premier Lounge seats and the food was quite good and fun to hang out in lounge plus easy access to drinks and bathrooms. On train back to our hotel drunken Spurs fans led songs which much of the car participated in. Just a classic experience.

And we get City at Home for Carabao.

a red card in the 7th minute? way to go Dragusin.....dumbass.
Posted on 9/26/24 at 4:15 pm to TeddyPadillac
I missed it. What did he do? I assume straight red if it was only 7 minutes in.
Posted on 9/26/24 at 4:39 pm to MetArl15
Scored 3 goals and got a clean sheet with 10 for the entire game.

For those that got to watch, what happened on the Red? How did we look after?
Posted on 9/26/24 at 6:46 pm to ShrevetownTiger
Dragusin received a pass and took too long on the ball, attacker forced turnover and dragusin fouled him trying to win it back without another defender providing cover between them and the goal. Clear red, and he’s a fricking moron.
We looked pretty good after the red, but we also gave up some big chances, and had some luck. There was an easy tap in that qarabag missed, when we were up1-0 in the first half, that possibly would’ve completely changed the game.
We also gave away a penalty from a bissouma challenge in the box up 2-0. Thankfully that dude sailed it over the bar. I’m curious if others in here thought that was a penalty because I didn’t. The attacker kicked out at bissouma drawing the contact, and then bissouma fought through that leg and won the ball.

I can’t believe VAR didn’t overturn that. He clearly moved his leg into the defender. Classic case of ball don’t lie when he skyed the penalty.
Dragusin is a moron and his decision screwed over Bergvall. I was excited to see him play and he would have probably played the full game or at least 70ish minutes and instead gets yanked after 10 minutes. Him crying on the bench was brutal.
