He’s gotta play now. Freaking Barkley should be benched for that.

So no Pulisic in CL game where Chelsea lost to an inferior team. Will he get to play next game?

Mount
Pedro
Willian
CHO (when he comes back)
....are all better players than pulisic.

It’s happened quicker than I imagined, but I think he’s essentially a super-sub unless someone gets injured, they are playing trash lower league squads or frank just wants rest for Pedro or willian.

Losing to inferior teams, someone is not is good as the coaches think.

Time to mix it up.

But Mount should be playing the advanced midfield role and not on the wing.

I agree with this.

Did people really expect Pulisic to come to Chelsea and be a regular starter?

Did Chelsea really expect to spend 70mil on Pulisic to be a regular bench warmer?

Not surprised to see him banging in goals after helping Swansea achieve promotion a few seasons ago.

I agree, he hasn’t done enough to keep others off the field, but I also think expectations were higher than the bench. He’s got some time though. The PL transition has been a difficult one even for players better than he is. Hopefully he can pull it together before willian and Pedro run out of legs. He’ll be behind cho and rlc for minutes if they return to form also. Meanwhile Mount and Abraham have been exceeding expectations.

Not for Pulisic.

I was just watching the latest espnfc episode, and they did a little segment on whether Pulisic fans should be worried about his lack of minutes recently, and Craig Burley nailed it I think, albeit annoyingly so with his usual disdain for American soccer fans. Basically he, and Stewart Robson, just said that he plays weak/timid and is on the fringes of the game for long spells. They think Frank has seen enough from him to now say that he’s clearly behind Mount, Willian, Pedro and possibly CHO when he comes back, and I agree.

If he’s not able to break into this Chelsea side this year, regularly, then it’s not going to happen for him at Chelsea. They will definitely be bringing in more talent when the ban is up in the summer, and if he hasn’t proved himself useful he’s a long shot to ever do so. I think his loan is inevitable, and will be hoping for it sooner rather than later. He’s at an age where he has to be playing every week. If that means playing at a smaller club, or in a “weaker” league so be it. He runs the risk of basically being Chelsea’s Shaqiri, but at a much different stage in his career.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t end up on the list with

KDB
Salah
Lukaku
Etc.

This is incredibly alarmist. I get your concern but I saw this response to that video and think it puts things in perspective.
quote:

This whole video is a bunch of shite. First of all, one of the main reasons he isnt playing right now is because chelsea have been playing a back 3 because of the Injury to emerson and inclusion of Alonso. Mount simply offers more on defense than Pulisic does. Pulisic has looked bad on defense and is comparatively much weaker than most premier league players. SO yes he hasnt been playing, BUT he will probably get more time when the system the team is playing favors his skillset. I'm a Chelsea fan and an even bigger USMNT fan and I'm not worried at all. Calm the frick down.

He has been with the team for all of what, two months? And you’re already calling for a loan and saying he is Shaqiri?
Give the man some time to adapt to a new country, new league, new coach, new team, new scheme. Very few players come in and immediately blow away the league. Look at Pepe at Arsenal. The guy absolutely destroyed the French league but has looked pretty pedestrian so far for us, except for a few fancy moves here and there.

Loan him to Real, they need all the help they can get.
