TV money seems to making the EPL like Serie A of the 1990s: wages and transfer fees skyrocketing and mid to lower table clubs overpaying to attract many foreign players that otherwise would be going to bigger clubs elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see if the money is invested a bit more wisely than clubs in Serie A did in the past.
In Serie A, when the TV money started exploding like it is in EPL right now, clubs began catering way too much the "TV product."
This came the expense of other things (like game day experience / keeping ticket prices affordable for local supporter bases).
It was all an immediate gratification "arms race" and little infrastructural investment or protecting the game day atmosphere and that was a a major portion of the groundwork under their recent troubles.
Serie A still makes a lot from TV and actually has a much higher new deal that starts in 2015-16.
The new deal will keep them well ahead of La Liga and more than double the Bundesliga or Ligue 1.
However, the league is way behind on things like corporate sponsorships and game day revenue, mainly because they put all their eggs in the TV basket until recently.

Every country does. Its bc 3pm games are not shown to encourage people to attend lower league matches which are local. It really doesn't make a difference.

You can log on to Sky and watch the match they are showing at the time. Same with BT but thats about it. 3pm games are blacked out and are not shown on sky until about 8pm and 10pm when they take the best two that were not on air.
So maybe 4 to 5 live games are shown each weekend.
Last night the only game on live tv was Liverpool vs Spurs.
The others had the english broadcasting but you have to use other means of finding it, ie illegal.

My uncle is a huge die Roten Teufel fan after being stationed at Ramstein AFB for quite some time. Claims the atmosphere is electric. Unfortunately, they have been stuck in 2.BL for quite some time.

I had FCK season tickets for 2 years. That is by far the loudest ground i've ever been too. 48k people louder than college football stadiums holding 70K+.
They have only been in the 2nd division for now the 3rd season and are in 2nd place right now. I used to start a season long thread but I didn't this year to see if some reverse voodoo worked for promotion.

I would love to go there, except it is kind of out of the middle of nowhere when planning travel in Germany. I only have so many days to see so much in Germany and I don't want to waste an entire day just attending a soccer match.
