Germany sells themselves so short when it comes to TV.

I think their upcoming deal with Fox may fix that.

That shite is peanuts from Fox. Singapore spends 500 m for the rights to EPL, which is equal to the entire TV revenue for the Bundesliga. Yeah, Singapore. US soccer market is hardly the needle mover in TV money. It is the Far East and Middle East interest that drives it.

Spain is like the MLB
Germany is like NFL
Shocked that PSG is not way higher than the rest of L1

Yea the EPL deal NBC got is a fricking steal.
Thats another reason the tv contract argument for the MLS to be a top 5 league is so far off.
Until the whole world watches it and pays up for it we are a long way off.

Fox does broadcast outside of the USA as well. You really don't think this deal will help close the gap?

fox sports does a lot of epl and other league broadcasting in europe and in asia/australia
but for the US rights they are not forking over major loot.
The American market just doesn't demand it. That and the Bundesliga just is not that popular in the states to warrant a huge tv deal.

Every views Bayern as the de facto NT and they would rather watch those players at Euros and WC. The Bundesliga is a boring arse league with Bayern running away with titles about 8 times per decade. People watch only Real and Barca regarding La Liga. There is a demand for EPL because at least there is some unpredictability at the top portion of the table.

In terms of quality it is far from boring. There just isn't the demand at all for it. There is no real connection americans have to the german league. Most German Americans don't speak German and don't full understand the huge difference in culture. While in America we share common overall culture and obviously langue with England. As for La Liga our hispanic population is always rising and we have plenty of spanish tv channels.
Barca and Madrid have always been huge worldwide brands that appeal to spanish speakers while FC Bayern's world wide brand is small in comparison.
Honestly Bayern is generally hated

How is the money split up in England? I assumed it was table position. But that can't be the case with Liverpool at the top.

Hard to make money with a product nobody wants to watch.

Its based on table position, plus number of times on Sky and whoever else pays for game rights (ie, not 3:00 on Sat).
Liverpool had the most televised games last year.
Also, I think that is only EPL Money. Champions League teams get more from UEFA.

It's partially table position but also based on ratings IIRC

Sky puts the teams on tv of who people want to see.
There are only usually 4 maybe 5 games on tv a weekend. While the 3pm ones are not shown in England.
That is why the fixtures are not set until about 2 months prior so they can move days and times for tv.
Liverpools fan base is so massive and when they are winning they are a huge draw for viewers.
