I’m sure we will get bent over our fair share by VAR, but I love that G. Jesus was the one that took it up the rear today. Couldn’t have happened to a better person.

If anybody was wondering why Winks is important, this is it.

Obviously City is in another stratosphere in regards to retaining possession, but once Winkz was subbed out Spurs had nobody to keep the ball in the middle.

Ndombele is out for the Newcastle match. Hope it’s nothing serious we need him for arsenal next week.

We should get 3 pts this weekend. Newcastle look terrible with Steve Bruce in charge. Completely different team from Rafa’s Newcastle. So knowing Spurs I’m going to guess we draw 1-1

It would be funny if it wasn’t so predictable.

There is something wrong with how bad we are at breaking down teams that put everyone behind the ball. That is on Poch. There was no need for Winks today he just passed the ball back and forth with sissoko. And Sanchez’s poor positioning was at fault for their goal, Vertonghen better start next week at arsenal.

Winks is fricking trash. I’m sorry, I’ve never been impressed by him, and can’t figure out why the supporters love him like they do...other than the fact that he’s a product of the youth system. He works hard, and that’s about it. He’s completely useless against teams that put numbers behind the ball (he’s not the only one).

Bigger picture, this teams feels a lot like the one that finished off last season. Lacks creativity, and for all the possession can’t create chances. Just poor all around. I don’t want to imagine this season without Eriksen.

I still have no idea why Sanchez is starting over vertonghen. Maybe Jan fricked Mauricio’s wife.

Agree on Winks. He doesn’t seem to have many errors but also doesn’t provide any creativity. He’s a predictable passer who can’t beat defenders off the dribble and provides no threat in the final third. I don’t see the value of having him and Sissoko out there together.

You all are making really valid points, and I pretty much agree with everything said.

I will add that I miss the high press from the 2015-16 season. Spurs used to bury and put lesser teams away, wish they would go back to it for games like today.

I miss the devastating press we use to have too. That was probably my favorite season overall. Up there with the enjoyment of last years CL run and the 2010-11 CL run.

Everything was so slow today we made it so easy for Newcastle to defend.

I do still love Winks I just think games like city when we need possession is his jam not games against these garbage pail teams that sit back.

Sounds like there may be problems behind the scenes, reported fist fight between Kane and Jan and Poch siding with Kane. These are just twitter rumors so not really taking it too seriously but something seems to be off about this team at the moment.

Wondering if Poch is just tired of the transfer talk and just wants certain players gone so they can focus on this season.
