I dont think anyone thought we were buying Jota to take Bobby's spot, but cant argue with the results. Hopefully he can keep it up for Man City.

I think Bobby is still firmly the starter. Jota is on a monumental run, but I think for now he’s best suited as the 65 to 75 minute sub that brings pace and natural attacking prowess when the other team’s defense is gassed. Also rotational play for domestic cups and UCL matches against smaller teams.

I think "firmly" is putting it too strongly. The pressure has been on him to produce, and that pressure just went up x10. Hard to sit a guy like Jota.

Yeah that seems like we are being overly cautious with him.

All things considered... not a bad result for us.

Played Chelsea, City and Everton away, plus Arsenal home in the first 8 games

Get LCFC after the break and hopefully we get Thiago and Fabinho back then.

Need him back for the insanely busy holiday season. Thankfully this week and next week are international break

Will be curious to see if Klopp starts Neco or Milner. Could even play Gomez at rb and let Rhys or Nat partner with Matip

Fab can also play that spot well once he is healthy. Plenty of options.

Also funny bc the one defensive position we bought backup for is left back.

Nothing official yet but a lot of rumors going around Gomez could be out for a long time. A buddy said he even read up to a year but like I said that’s purely a rumor at this point

@LFC

@J_Gomez97 has today undergone successful surgery to repair a tendon in his left knee.

The issue was isolated to Gomez’s tendon, with no damage to any other associated knee ligaments and Joe will now begin a rehabilitation programme with our medical team

Laughable at this point. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

What’s the chance we go shopping for CB’s in January? I don’t want to make a panic signing and overpay for a mediocre talent, but man do we need some backup.
